CR Tower Club - what exactly is "limited service"?

I understand that the food offerings are not as extensive. Is the breakfast, however, enough to suffice as a meal? Are beer and wine offered in the evenings? Do the offerings close down earlier than full-service?

My main question, though, is about the concierge service. Will they make PSs and help with other special requests in the same way the full-service CLs do?

DH and I had our hearts set on Poly LVC for our next trip in 12/2005 but we would certainly require a discount to afford this. Since discounts do not seem to be a given as in years past, we have been unsure what to do. So after seeing some beautiful pics of the CR 12th floor view on the MK side, we thought we might consider this for more than $100/night less. I do, however, want to feel a *little* pampered!

Do you feel that the $60 more per night for the Club level is worth it? (Rack rate for the CR tower is $345 and Club is $405)

Thanks for any input!

I personally think it is totally worth it, I wont stay at the CR unless its on the 12th floor. Heres the deal, for breakfast (which goes aut about 7am) you have coffees, teas, cocoa, milk and juice, 3 type of cereals, fresh fruit and a huge variety of breakfast pastries. I am not a breakfast person, so this is great for me, DH who requires breakfast, seems to do good with coffee and some of the offerings, so it could substitute breakfast if you dont need a hot breakfast.
From 12 - 4 , they still have coffee and teas, but they also bring out soda and chocolate milk, and lots of junk food...(Cupcakes, cookies etc) which I would make a plate of and put in the fridge with some sodas for late nite snacks. There is a concierge member there until 10 pm, and also you do get your own check in on the 12th floor which is VERY convenient. They made ALL our PS for us, and also got us into CRT breakfast though it was sold out. The staff is VERY friendly, they rotate the concierge between 12th and 14th floors. The 14th floor does offer dinner items and cocktails, but nothing that makes it worth it to me, also the rooms on the 14th floor (IMO) are not kept as well. I liked the 12th floor better. Yes it is expensive, but like you said if you want to feel a little pampered, and the added convenience of concierge and the ability to walk to the MK (it was much faster than taking the monorail, I clocked it at 8 minutes) I'd say go for it! But be warned I dont think they really discount that floor, and if they do it may only be 2 or 3 rooms.

I totally agree with the op we had a great expierence on the 12th floor i posted when i came back that the only thing light about the 12th floor was the food and after reading so much on here i would take that back because other than dinner and liquer there was alot of food.one night one of the cms were running up to the 14th floor i jokingly said bring down some snacks and he came back with a huge plate of pastries everything about the 12th floor went like that whatever we needed we got .by the way we had a bay side room and had the oppertunity to switch the second day we chose to stay on the bay side it was beautiful so if you dont get a mk view dont sweat it. all in all i would have to say the cr tower club is woth every penny!!! just one more note on ps they made every one for us last minute and we were seated immediatly when we got to the restaurants . there was always someone at the cl desk waiting to help with whatever you may need!

I stayed on the 12th floor this past oct. and probably would not spend the money on it again. I have never stayed in a conceirge and wasn't too pleased with it. The CM's were nice, hwoever never went above and beyond. I had to wait 3 days to get my package when I checked in which included my free lanyard etc (b/c i got a package deal that comes with some stuff) no phamplets no nothing until 3 days later and I had to ask each day for it and they kept forgetting.
As far as the food it was just ok. Breakfast consisted of cereals, bagels (the small ones that aren't really fresh) a tray of some sort of danish, a tray of crossciants, fresh fruit in a small tray that was usually all gone (strawberries and grapes especially) b/c there wan't much of it. Tea, coffee, OJ, cranberry juice, chocolate milk, milk, low fat milk.

for the afternoon there was never any soda (I wish there was or water) just lemonade, tea and coffee. Snacks were always cookies (assortment) goldfish, pretzels, and usually one more thing like brownies or some sort of cupcake or cake. (they would switch each day)

Don't get me wrong it was nice to have and worth the try but I will not do that again on the 12th floor. Just wasn't worth the money.

I posted on the resirt board when I got back and had some pics from my trip there and it included a pic of the breakfast table. If I find it I will re-post the link.

I have to totally disagree with you. We were also there oct and found that the cl cms went so above and beyond for us. I did get friendly with them so maybe that helped but they got us ps 3 times gave me bottled water for the room faxed something for us mailed a package home for us brought down pastries from the 14th floor toasted bagels put balloons and cake in the room for ds b-day and a pic signede by goofy. the list just goes on and on I cant imagine getting better service anywhere!!

I have to say that we went at the beginning of this month to the 14th floor, and when DH and I went down to the 12th floor where DD and her DH were staying, we asked to be moved down there as well. First, the rooms are cleaner, and not as "beat" on the 12th floor. The staff really are all the same people rotating from the 12th to the 14th floor, and we found them to be very very helpful throughout our stay. As far as the offerings, the breakfast actually had more choices than the 14th floor, and the snacks were exactly the same. While we did enjoy the appetizers, wines, and desserts on the 14th floor, the $85 difference per night between the 12th and 14th floor would buy you a lot of appetizers, desserts, etc. each day.

Having stayed all througout the CR from the Garden Wing, Tower rooms, and the 2 concierge levels, I'd have to say the 12th floor is IMO the way to go if you're looking to stay "top shelf" at the CR.
