CR Take it or leave it?

Coral Reef - Take it or Leave it??

  • Take it! Keep the ADR's - we love it!!

  • Leave it! Cancel the ADR's - not worth the $$$

  • It's just ok.. some food good, some not.

  • Just go for desert. Eat dinner elsewhere!

I posted in the review section by accident, but this belongs here! Sorry! :guilty:

Anyway, can you please help me decide if we should cancel our ADR's at the Coral Reef for Nov? I haven't heard too much good about it lately..for the price! My mom really wanted to take my dd there (shes 5) b/c of the big fish tank.. however, i think it could be an expensive mistake!

What about desert? Is that worth going for and doing dinner somewhere else?? :confused3

Of course, with anything Disney, it's different strokes for different folks. If you're going for the ambience, the CR is hard to beat. The tank is awesome to watch while you're eating. My opinion of the food, especially for the cost, is that it's at the very bottom of my list of WDW restaurants. On our last visit there (which, to be fair, was in 2003) none of the 6 diners enjoyed the food at all. It was pretty 'eh. And, the prices are relatively high. I don't remember being wowed by the desserts either. So, my opinion would be to do another really fun place (Ohana maybe? Whispering canyon?) that your DD would love. OR...go, know that's it's going to be expensive, but have an awesome time watching the tank and chalk it up to a great experience if not great food. I'm no help, huh?

Ha.. thanks!! See i am just trying to avoid an expensive "tank viewing" - I think it's crazy to go just for fish watching, and not great food too! LOL I want a nice atmosphere but i also want a nice meal.. There will be 5 of us.

We also have an ADR for one of our nights on our Honeymoon. The dining lady at disney dining was all excited about how good it is which is the reason I took the last 7:30 seating for 2, but after hearing not so good things about it I am SERIOUSLY considering changing it. I want a nice trip with magical memories, but don't want to go to CR if it really is not worth it food wise. I think we may just pop in for something to drink and maybe dessert. I rather try another place I really wanted than risk it I think. :bride:

Caitsmama...I just realized that I seem to be following you around replying on all of your threads. Trust me, it's a coincidence. I'm not really stalking you!! BTW, your DD is adorable.

Thanks!! I believe you!! :)

We had a bad experience there in the mid 90s and just went back for the first time at Christmas 2005 (for the CP Package). It was amazing last December!
