We are getting married in June at WDW and have decided to stay at CR. Since the wedding is costing quite a bit we will only be able to afford a standard room (and praying that we can get a code for then). Are there any areas that are better than others so that we could request that? We have never been to CR but love the thought of the location. As it is our honeymoon, we want to get the best room we can, but just can't stretch our $$ anymore. Any thoughts?

I would request a room in the North Wing with a lagoon view. You'd be able to see the Electrical Water Parade (or whatever it's called ;)) from your window. You will also be nearer to the parking and the MK. Here's hoping you'll get an upgrade to a tower room!

I agree with requesting the North Garden Wing. IMO, the only reason to request the South Garden Wing is if you want a smoking room and/or want to be located near the pools/hot tubs.

The NGW is located close to the walking path to the MK, the bus stop, the back entrance to the Food and Fun Center (which leads to the lobby), the tennis courts, and the playground.

One thing to know is that there are different prices for different rooms in the Garden Wings.

From the WDW site:

Standard Guest Rooms: maximum 5 Guests
Surround yourself with modern luxury in a spacious Guest room decorated in bold, colorful designs.
Garden/Lake View from $275
Standard View from $239

These are rack rates.

Have fun!

I believe the AP rate for garden wing rooms is $149. That is a great deal, we loved the CR. The rooms are huge and so are the bathrooms. The BC bathrooms do not hold a candle to CR. If you want a patio request the bottom floor. I would definitely have them note you are on your honeymoon on the ressie and maybe you will get a tower upgrade. You can't beat the location of this resort. Even if you are in a garden wing -- how much time will you spend in your room and on your honeymoon you won't be looking out the window anyway!:p Congrats and have a blast.

We just came home from the CR. Loved the hotel!! Excellent location....we splurged and stayed in the tower, concierge floor (12th) overlooking the MK. Let me warn you...the rooms are decorated like Partridge family meets Picasso. IMHO they are the ugliest rooms I have ever seen.
Let me tell you about the view: spectacular! We slept with the curtains all the way open so we could always see the MK lit up at nite!! Fireworks from our balcony were amazing!! For the money, I would bump down to the 11th floor, but keep the view.
Also, this was a noisy location. With all the activity at the hotel at nite, and busses and trucks going everywhere....the sound gets trapped in those cubbies we call balconies. At 5 am there was a scissor lift truck doing its business for about 45 mins....beep beep beep beep....aarrgghh!!!
We ate dinner in the steakhouse in the Grand Concourse, it was delicious!!!
Weighing the good and bad, we loved it...

I love your picture too!! I'll be an CR in a mere 10 days - I keeping my fingers crossed for a MK view room - I had them note that it was our 15th wedding anniversary so I hope that I can have some pixie dust blow my way!!!

Christine,

We just got back from CR 12th Floor with a Bay Lake View. Don't worry too much if you don't get the MK View. I loved the Lake/Pool view. It was very peacefull and quite. Every night at 10:05 we watched the Electric Water Parade. I initially wanted the MK view; but, now I'm not sure what I would pick. The MK view is also a parking lot view. Either way, you'll have a great time.
