Hi All,

I read the thread below on MK views at the CR, so that helped a lot. That said, a friend of ours told us they weren't impressed with the Contemporary because it was "old and dirty". Unfortunately, I don't know what part they stayed in or the exact timeframe. The pics I've seen of some of the renovated rooms look pretty impressive to me, however. If you select a MK view room at the CR, is it safe to assume that the renovated rooms are "new and clean" vs "old and dirty"? Were they renovated top to bottom, corner to corner, including bathroom floors, etc?

Also, what is the feel of the hallways in the tower? Do they "feel like" outside corridors? I've only seen the CR as I was going through it on the monorail, so hard to get a feel.

Thanks!

CR is one of those resorts that people either "hate" or "love", there doesn't seem to be much middle ground.

We've stayed 2x, and loved our stays. Our first was in the N wing (now gone), the 2nd on the 14th Fl concierge. That floor didn't open to the canyon, 12th on down do. They view are spectatular. Our room overlooked the FW/WL, and we could see the top of Epcot & some MGM FW's (far away). We'd go to the concierge lounge for that spectular MK view.

CR is currently going through a massive overhall. I believe the rooms are all done. They are currently working on the common areas and moving resturants around. I believe Chef Mickey's will be about the only major thing untouched. There are lots of pictures posted of the new rooms.

The only "drawback" is the pool is rough on little kids who can't swim. There is no kiddie pool and no zero entry. There is a sprinkler area.

If you have stayed in the CR before, it appeared (at least from the wing room I had a couple weeks ago) that they kept the marble tile in the bathroom and around the tub that was in there before. But it was in fine condition and perfectly clean. All the sink fittings, wall coverings, lighting, etc. in the bathroom was new.

All of the fittings in the room were new, from wall coverings, to carpets, to drapes, to furniture. The only old furniture I imagine is left there (and I say imagine because I didn't look) are the platforms for the beds. Those were built into the original CR rooms as part of the room construction, and every rehab so far has left them in place. Since the new headboards are attached to the walls, I feel pretty sure that's still the case.

My room was in very good condition, and I had a good Mousekeeper who kept it extremely clean.

As it has been stated all the rooms in the Tower and South Garden Wing have been 100% renovated and the new rooms look amazing. My family and I have stayed in the renovated rooms 3 times and we have never found anything wrong with them. So maybe you should ask your friend when they stayed at the Contemporary, to know if they are referring to the old rooms, or the renovated rooms? As for the hallways in the Tower they do not feel like outside corridors, that you would see at the All Star Resorts since all the rooms are located inside. What I can say it's fun to look down from the floors in the Tower to see everything that is going on by the shops and restaurants down on the 4th floor.

thanks for all the replies! Unfortunately, I'm a creature of habit and when I find something I like, it's a very tough decision to change. Our Yacht Club stay this year was just about perfect! So, it's hard to pick a different place for us. We are thinking deluxe/MK this time around, thus all the questions on GF and CR, etc.

Again - thanks for the replies! Still trying to decide!
