debating between Contemporary & Port Orleans for family of 5. How much better would garden wing at contemporary be over a pool view at POR? We have stayed at POR before?

Joloco,

While I love POR/POFQ (my faves!) I'd opt for being on the monorail to get around to the parks/TTC. The landscaping at POR is wonderful as is the water shuttle to DTD. Contemporary is walkable to MK, and has Chef Mickey's for character breakfast.

Depends on what is tops on your list for lodging "must haves".

Enjoy your planning!

I would assume that POR would be a lot cheaper unless you've got a really good CR rate. However, if the price difference is not a factor, I too would vote for the CR (despite the fact that I'm a huge POR fan), especially if you plan to spend a lot of time at the MK. Being on the monorail is nice, but better still is the fact that the MK is a very easy walk from the CR! You can emerge from the MK at any time (even after an evening parade) and know that you will be back to your room quickly without having to face crowded buses or even a monorail line.

Also, the room at the CR is noticeably bigger for a family of 5, with a daybed available instead of having to pull out the trundle bed.

You can also walk out to the beach at night and watch the Water Pageant which is fun.

You can't really go wrong with either resort! :earsboy:
