I currently have a preferred room booked at CBR for our May trip with DH and DD4. I'm now looking into an AP (DH has to travel to WDW in Feb.) and am now thinking about changing to CR and hope for an AP discount. What do you all think? I REALLY think we'd all enjoy the atmosphere at CBR better than CR, but the location at CR can't be beat...considering we'll be spending a LOT of time at MK.

I don't particularly like the layout of CR (or the decor), have heard terrible things about the food court, pools not as convenient, but the room size and big window (plus the view) sounds really nice. Which do you think DD4 would like more?

HELP ME!! I've thought about this so much my head hurts! :earseek:

I really love the CBR.....have stayed there 2 times and the tropical feel and relaxed atmosphere appeals to me. (1st trip with DD at 2 1/2 and 2nd time this summer with dd now 15, ds 10 and dd 2 1/2)

But MK is the furthest park from CBR.... The only time I mind the bus from MK is after the evening fireworks when it is crowded and you may not get a seat...

I think you should read the thread just posted "Contemporary,Never again"

Why are you only thinking of the contemporary for a delux?

My vote is still for CBR!

We've stayed at both. Truth be told, if money were no object, I'd pick the CR, at least for adults. You can't beat the monorail going right through the lobby, the rooms are huge, and the view (from a Tower room anyway) can't be beat. It isn't themed the way other resorts are but that didn't bother us. They don't exactly have a food court - it's more like a fast food place - lots of sandwiches and prepared stuff and drinks, and a grill/deli where they make things you can order - but we found it to be perfectly fine for a quick breakfast or lunch, and I think it's open 24/7, at least for the pre-made stuff. That being said, for the money, the CBR certainly has it's advantages. As mentioned, the tropical theming and setting are beautiful and restful, rooms are a respectable size, the food court was great, and we have found the bus service to be excellent - we had a rented car but never felt the need to use it. I don't have a four year old (any more), but I would bet that the CBR's theming and atmosphere would appeal more to your DD4.
