sney was not planning expansion of regular resorts or building new regular resorts but that there were definite plans for future DVC expansion.

yea but the redo of All stars into family suites is definitely going on now.

but since that did NOT require them tearing down the building - hoping it is DVC....

hey as someone else says we can share - half for DVC half for the Cont suites.

If they rebuild I hope it is different from the horseshoe shaped high rise that was circulating for a while as a DVC rumor. I just don't see how you put that with an A-frame and get a consistent theme. And with all the money they sank into the A-frame renovation I suspect it is going to be there for some time.

but A (the current tower), C (the DVC one), and someday B (the south wing).....

I pretty much was the only one that has ever posted they were doing asbestos removal, because basically that is something they usually don't make public. Because as someone else stated if it was the North Wing, it is also in the rest of the resort. Maybe I misread your comment, but you have made it before and it seemed to imply that they truly did not do asbestos removal.

And they did. That is why demoliation did not occur in October when the North Wing was closed to the public. That is why for months the North wing has been covered in plastic sheeting. They could not demolish it without removing the asbestos.

As I posted the day prior to the demolition, when I am given definite info I share it, if I can. I was told that it was going down and within days. And it did. Prior to that, I was told there was no definite decision. I believe that.

Some that are not familar with the inner workings have no idea how quickly ideas change at Disney. Eagle Pines is a perfect example. It was all set to go, announcement was made and then it was pulled.

While I believe that DVC will built some type of project at the Contemporary it is yet to be seen whether it will be just DVC or a joint project, as at this point I truly believe that they don't know.

I guess at times it seems the ones that share most of the info, also recieve the most ribbing. And those ribbing don't seem to share much info.

But thanks for the decaf suggestion, I don't drink coffee but I do drink decaf tea.

I have posted this same thing several times. I'm glad to see someone else say the same. I think the C might work if it's not a high rise, but I don't see a small DVC on such a valuable piece of property. Maybe the "delay" is due to the need for a redesign that 1. Looks better and 2. distributes weight over a greater area of that soft ground.

I don't want to see a high rise there. However, without a hi rise there won't be a "castle view" and I think DVC is gonna want some of those.

I hope they don't put a building that is taller than the current CR tower because I think the current tower should remain the main focus of the CR. Besides if they put a high rise where the north wing is at, it will hide the view of Space Mountain when coming from WL/FW on the boat! That view was awesome--CR tower, monorail and space mountain--looked pretty futuristic to me.

The place reminds me of one of the old communist russian tower blocks, I think it would be a good idea to knock the whole place down and start again with somthing a bit more pleasing on the eye. A buliding like the A frame would more at home in the Epcot area anyway.
