We are staying at CR For 7 days and I am curious what others do with all of their stuff when they unpack? I have read many reviews, etc regarding how little storage there is, so I am trying to plan for how to make it work. Should I just plan to bring extra hangers? What do you do with items that can't be hung in the closet? It will be myself, DH, DS7, DD4. Thanks so much for any advice!

If the CR is like every other hotel we've stayed at -- we live out of our suitcases for the week. Take out what we need for the day and iron it, if necessary. Put our dirty clothes in an extra laundry bag we pack and throw it in the closet, and keep everything else zippered up inside the suitcases.

You're gonna think I'm weird, but....

Before departure we lay out the kids outfits. Then in a one gallon (DS5) or two gallon (DD9) bag we put that day's clothes (undershirts, underpants, socks, pants, shirt). Then we squeeze the air out of the bag and put in an orange plastic tote. The tote gets shipped down a week before hand. When the kids wake up in the morning we toss them one of their "clothes kits" from the bin. At the end of the day, the clothes go back in the bin, but not in plastic bags.

Thus we leave everything in the tote and don't actually unpack.

Mrs. longrf01 and I have all clothes, chargers, hygiene products, laundry supplies, etc in two Owners Lockers. For the most part we don't really unpack those either.

I guess you could sum it by saying we live out of a plastic box. :rotfl2:

I think there are 3 large drawers and then the closet. The first time we unpacked and with 4.5 (baby) we were fine and had space. Last time we did a split stay so we lived out of the suitcase.

I also use the ziplock bags for the kids outfits (and I thought I was strange)!!!

We also use the drawers and the closet. Everyone is assigned a drawer and the adults get the closet. I keep the kids outfits in plastic bags also!!! Works great! I bring a plastic shoe organizer (it doesn't take up much space in the suitcase) for all the shoes to stay in the bottom of the closet. Enjoy!

I guess my confusion is coming from thinking there aren't any drawers. I have seen people complain that the tv cabinet doesn't have drawers and that there is any storage for your "stuff". So for those of you that say you assign drawers, where are they in the room? We don't like to live out of our suitcases. I feel like it's harder to keep everything neat and organized plus it's harder to see/find things. Plus it just contributes-if only mentally- to feeling like we're on vacation. Thanks for the replies!

The 2 drawers next to the desk are very big and very deep. You can fit A TON in there. There are also a couple of drawers in one of the closets (but not many). One of the closets has double hang bars, so I always packed extra wire hangers (from the dry cleaners etc) and hung a ton of stuff in there as well.

My biggest issue with CR was the lack of storage. While the room is plenty big enough for 5 people, storage does not accommodate them. We used every hanger, every shelf, and every drawer with 4 people and still had stuff piled on the desk in the corner. Bathroom storage isn't much better I'm afraid. Can't beat the view tho :)

I unpack shirts/tops and hang them up so they won't be wrinkled.

All other clothing (underware, socks, etc.) I leave in the luggage.

I do unpack all toiletries.
