I just called SOG and got the CR in July and was asked if I wanted a Lagoon view for an extra 10.00, I said yes. But I would like to be close to the towers because of the long walk. (We only stayed here once about 15 years ago and that is all I remember is the long walk!) Now after looking at a map I am wondering does the North Garden Wing have any Castle views?? If I could see the castle that long walk may not be so bad!;) Has anyone stayed in this area and could you give me some info?? We are paying 116.55 per nite so I think the CR it is a great location for this rate no matter what!! Joan:earsgirl:

How long of a walk are we talking? I paid extra for a lagoon view too, now you have me nervous. We will be there in 33 days!

Hi laurenk,
We just got back from the CR NGW via SoG. We stayed in room 8122, the lagoon view room that is the absolute furthest room away from the grand concourse. Even then, the walk was only about 6-8 minutes. We requested this room because we wanted peace and quiet, and we certainly got it! However, this trip was just DH and I, so the walk wasn't too bad, even after a long day in the parks. However, if we'd had little kids, a stroller, huge diaper bag, etc. we may have thought differently. If you request rooms in the 7101-7115 area, you still get a lagoon view, you are near the playground, and the walk to the grand concourse is probably cut in half or more. I hope this helps!

Joan S.,
I can't be 100% sure, but I really don't see how any of the NGW rooms can have a good view of the castle. You may be able to see a couple of the turrets above the trees, but that's it. I could be wrong though, so if I am hopefully someone will correct me!I thought the lagoon view for $10/night was a fabulous deal. I will definitely pay for that again, as I am not big on the parking lot view. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. Amy. Did you guys walk to the MK or take the monorail? How were you treated at the resort? I know earlier reports from SoG people stated some poor treatment due to not being "regular" guests.

Hi lauren,
We were there 9/10-9/21, so it was still hot and humid as he** while we were there. Plus, it rained every afternoon/evening starting somewhere between 4 and 8 o'clock. Anyway, because it was always raining when we left the park, and it was already hot in the morning when we left the hotel, we only walked to MK once. The walk is pleasent and takes about 10 minutes. I think if you're going in November, walking would be awesome! It should be a lot cooler and much less humid. The monorail is great on the way back to the CR, because the CR is the first stop. As far as we could tell, we were treated no differently than the "real" CR guests. In fact, I was sort of tearful while we were checking out, and the CM (Rosa) was so nice. She pulled out a disposable camera, took 2 pics of us, gave us the camera, and said, "See, when you look at these pictures, you'll remember that you had so much fun that you were sad to leave. Maybe you'll stay with us again!" Then she thanked my DH for serving in the military. I don't know if you're traveling with kids, but in case you are, the CR has covered over their kiddie pools. None of the lifeguards seemed to know why. There were lots of little kids in the main pool though, and they looked like they were having lots of fun. In one of the old kiddie pool spots there's now a playground, so there's 2 playgrounds on the lagoon side of the NGW. We saw lots of families sitting on their patios watching their kids play out on the playgrounds. Whew! I've probably told you way more than you wanted to know! Hope this helps.

Amy A. Thank you for taking time to post, this is just what I wanted to know. I am glad you had a great time! Joan
