Hi....my husband and I and our 2 year old have reservations for the end of July no tower rooms available so we took a garden wing room. Which wing north/south should we request?? Any particular room we should ask for?? Also what are the chances of people canceling tower room reservations at the last minute??

thanks!!!:)

So many tower rooms, you probably have a good chance

As for North or South - the North Wing is closer to the Magic Kingdom if you want to entertain walking over there (about 10 Minutes) whilst the South Wing is closer to the pool

In the South Wing need to be careful (if this is an issue) of being near the passage between Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake due to potential watercraft noise

We stayed in room #7103 - standard view and it was very nice with a ground floor patio and an oblique view towards Bay Lake and was only the third room in the hallway so close to the CR main building as well

The hallways do tend to get a touch noisy from time to time and the CR does tend to make kids a little wired (Monorail, Chef Mickey's, the size of the place, arcade etc.)

The CR is a very nice resort though - these links might help you with more info/perspective:

in the above pictures, "North" is to the "top" of the picture so the North Wing is above and to the right of the main tower and South Wing is the other building below and to the right of the main tower.

I would also suggest the North Garden Wing - we were on the second floor and it was a very short walk to the main building. We walked to MK - the monorail makes three stops after Contemporary - but its the first stop coming back from MK! From our window, we could see the fireworks at MK. We really enjoyed our stay!!! My youngest DD loved watching the cartoons on the TV right outside the arcade. Its a great spot to people watch too!

Enjoy!!!

clancydog, I don't think you'll have a choice.

Shades of Green has taken over the entire North Garden Wing until December of this year while they are renovating and expanding their resort. Unless you or a family member is active/retired military or active DoD employee, you will probably be sent to South.

Our preference is the South Wing, especially if we can get 1st floor near the pool.

thanks for the advice....my dad is retired from the army maybe i should tell them if this will help with the north wing

:)

We stayed in the North wing and it was very convenient to the MK path and to the main building. We were also able to park right near our room. The first floor rooms have small patios. I don't remember the pool being a very long walk either. Have fun.:D

SOG does not have all the rooms in the North Wing reserved - we had the North Wing during our recent trip - it does make it more likely you will get South Wing though

Thanks
