CR CL vs YC CL

I want to preface this post by apologizing, because I'm fairly certain I'm thinking about this entirely too hard...

We took advantage of a bounceback offer and booked POR. Last week, after getting reassurance from some DISers, I changed it to YC CL and had the bb applied. It was an easy sell--I am really looking forward to SAB and being so close to Epcot, DHS, and the Boardwalk. After making the switch, I started reading up on YC and learned there is a chance that it will be under refurb while we are there. I don't mind if other floors are undergoing construction as I have heard they've done a really good job of keeping the noticeability to a minimum. However, I am getting very anxious about the possibility that they might be working on the CL at the time of our stay (mid-November).

Here's the deal... I have called to see if there are any other viable options that we could switch to and still apply our bb. Currently, there isn't anything (unless we win the lottery and can magically afford the available princess suite at the poly for $11k haha). I looked at some of the RO discounts and there wasn't much that popped up, although there was an atrium CL room at CR. However, it's $1500 more than our current reservation. Availability in general (even with no discounts) is looking extremely limited for deluded during our dates.

My dilemma: do I roll the dice and wait and see how rumored refurb dates at YC pan out? That is what I'm leaning towards, but I'm fearful if we are displaced due to construction on the club level that we may be moved to a non-deluxe or a resort we are significantly less interested in solely BC everything else is booked. If I switch again to CR, I will have peace of mind but it's $1500 more... Roll the dice/wait it out, or cough up more money? What would you do?

I never stay in a resort under refurb or construction if at all possible. So, if it is in the budget, I would move. That said, $1500.00 is a huge amount of money, so I certainly understand your dilemma.

I would choose which ever of your two options that you feel would be the choice that will make you the happiest and then keep checking for something better. Things change with availability all the time, you may get lucky and find the perfect solution.

Something to think about - how about a split stay with part of your visit at the YC and then move to the CR. That way, if the YC is bothersome, at least it isn't the entire vacation ad with fewer days at the CR the price difference won't be as high.

Good luck!

We are in the same predicament, however, we think we are going to stick it out as there are not many ideal options to switch to. We are hoping all works out, there is no way to know for sure though. It's tough, we switched from the Poly because of the quiet pool construction thinking YCwas safe. We will see....not sure what they will do if the CL floor is renovated first that's where we are booked end of September.

So after spending the weekend riding the crazy train and making myself insane by frantically trying to evaluate other options (or lack thereof haha), I've decided we will just stick it out as well and hope for the best. Fingers crossed it will all work out for us both! :)
