Are these two different properties? :confused3 I was reading about CPGV and then somehow ended up with Villas of Cypress Point while reading Trip Advisor. Help!

Hi TennisMom................

Cypress Pointe is a resort with two phases (or sections, if you will). The first phase they built is called Cypress Pointe. The second phase they built is called Cypress Pointe Grand Villas. They are right next to each other and guests of one may use the amenities of the other and vice versa.

CP is the older of the two but has just gone thru a rehab. CPGV is newer and is still in good condition, at least that's what I hear on here. We will find out for ourselves this Dec..

CP is three floors, no elevators. It has the volcano pool with slides. CPGV has elevators and has the turtle pool and kiddie pool..............I can't remember exactly all of what each one has, but if you go to their website, you can find info there or do a search on here. There are many, many CP threads. It's a popular place.

Hope this helps a little. :sunny:

I have a detailed review and pics from our January stay at CP in my siggy line below if you're interested. Great place!

Hi

we stayed here last summer and really had a good time, we were at the grand villas, (the newer section) the origanal cypress pointe has just undergone a major refurb on all its condos, pool areas very good, small gym on site, no bar or restaraunt, only a deli with pizza and snacky type food, but the resort is in a great location, a big plus, the condos were spotlessly clean,

Happy hols

I've been searching and reading threads and I'm still confused.

By reading the threads it sounds like CP, not CPGV has the toilet that is not enclosed behind a door. Is this correct? We stayed at the Wyndham Palms and the entire master bathroom area is open to the master bedroom, but the toilet is still enclosed. Is it truly "out in the open" at CP? Has this been changed in CPGV? The layouts I've seen for both seem to have a door to the toilet area.

Also, it sounds like the second bedroom at CP has a bed with a trundle, while there are 2 "real" beds at GPGV. Is this correct?

We loved Wyndham Palms when Hotel Kingdom had great deals for this resort. Has anyone stayed at both (Wyndham Palms and CP/CPGV) and can compare them so we get an idea as to what to expect?

Thanks,

We also stayed in Wyndham Palms (Aug 03) when Hotel Kingdom had that great deal and stayed at CPGV (Dec 04). Wyndham Palms room was nicer, the sofas were leather, the quality of all the furniture was better, in fact the general standard was higher. Also the room seemed almost new. CPGV is not new and our room although still great value was showing a few signs of wear. After staying at Wyndham our expectation was very high but that Wyndham deal was a one off. Once we adjusted and remembered what we had paid for CPGV it is also a superb deal.

We were not disappointed with CPGV and have booked to stay there again.

The toilet in CPGV has a door. There are two real beds.
