Just read there will be no 15% discount on merchandise for buying the Candle Light Processional.

I am very dissapointed in this.:(

Same disappointment I felt to learn there would be no Osborn lights...which is why we planned our first winter trip.
Are we the only ones really dissapointed in this loss?

Not to raise anyone's hopes, but last year they said no discount at first but then had it. I think they are making a mistake not offering it, I spent alot of money at MouseGears that day! Both years we used it I figured I saved over $20 in discounts (each year). If they are not having it, I'll head to Downtown Disney for 10% off but probably will not spend as much.

They couldn't do Osbourne Lights this year due to constuction on a new attraction in the Backlot scheduled to open next year. I know that it is disappointing, but you will have so much else to do and see. Then you can make plans to revisit at a time when you know they will be displaying the Osbourne Lights... which will begin again next year.

Don't miss the Candlelight Processional, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, all of the gorgeous decorations in the resorts (which are free of charge), shopping in DownTown Disney, the beautiful decorations in the parks, and the festively dressed characters which whom you can get photo ops.

Disney knows how to do Christmas right. You won't be disappointed!

That is a bummer, but I almost feel I am to blame.
My first Christmas trip...no OL
My first APs...no AP rate for our first trip using them
My first CP package...no discount.
It seems to be my luck lately. ;)

Disney is a great place at Christmas Time. We really do love it down there at that time of the year.

In years past, we had Amex discount, then DC (which is ending) and now they have eliminated the Candle Light shopping discount.

I do hope the re-instate it.

:D

We were disappointed that the 15% discount went away, too. In fact, 13 of us had planned to do the CP package, and when we heard "no shopping discount," we changed our minds. If they reinstate it later, we'll buy tickets; otherwise, we'll eat elsewhere and take our chances in the stand-by line. We're going in early December, and I don't think we'll have a problem getting in. Plus, we're at the Beach Club Villas, so we can try a few different evenings if necessary.

I think it's a shame they discontinued the discount. Seems like it would have boosted their sales and made it worthwhile.

Just bumping this up, in case someone wants to change their mind. :bounce:
