CP narrator Dec 3-5 released

As per Allears, from dec 3rd-5th the speaker is Chita Rivera, broadway star. Not familiar with her, anyone?

Okay, so we're officially the only ones without a narrator! I am a big fan of Chita, although I'm a bit unsure how she will do as a narrator...She seems too excitable to stand behind a podium and read for 45 minutes.

Wow...it amazes me that anyone would have to ask who Chita Rivera is. Ms. ivera is a legend of stage and screen! She was the original Anita in "West Side Story" and also starred in "Kiss of the Spiderwoman" just to name a couple of things. If you are going to the CP during her dates you should consider yourself extremely fortunate.

BroadwayGirl- I would guess a lot of people (myslef included) would have to ask who Chita Rivera is. Not everyone is as into broadway as you obviously are. I don't think it was a very nice comment, especially to the OP who so nicely gave us the info.
Hopefully they will let us know the CP speaker for the remaining dates soon. I am going on the 8th and cannot wait!

I just hope they're in the process of signing someone really great for our CP date of December 8th!

Chita Rivera rules. Legend is definitely the word for her, and if I were given a choice among all the CP speakers, that is who I'd want to see. You are indeed very lucky if you get to see her.

Sorry,but I'm disappointed that they haven't signed Jim Caviezel!! Oh well,at least there's hope that he'll be the narrator for the 6th to the 8th!!!(That reminds me,I have to cancel my oackage for the 5th!!)

Just wanted to give my opinion that I don't think what broadwaygirl wrote was a rude comment at all. They just happen to love Chita Rivera and was shocked someone had to ask who she was. No biggie.

The really funny thing about threads like these is this....everyone is going to have different tastes, especially in narrators. The person I might like to hear could be a complete dud in someone else's opinion. When I saw that we had David Ogden Stiers the first time we went to CP, I was really disappointed. But, he was really quite good!! Of course, there was Phil Donahue last year. I won't go into that one. But, my favorite so far was Heather Headly...OMG. I hadn't heard of her either, but once I checked to see what her bio was, found she was pretty accomplished. Did Nala on Broadway with 'The Lion King' among other terrific stuff. She was simply incredible. So....don't be too quick to judge someone else's taste. We all have different expectations and you may find yourself surprised by the narrator you get. Besides, the story being told is beautiful and the music is beyond compare. They could have Mickey Mouse up there and I wouldn't care!!!

I truly wasn't offended. I think I took it as if Broadway Girl is that excited about her, then it must be a good thing. I guess I don't remember West Side Story well enough. I did research her profile, but still doesn't ring any bells with me. I am excited no matter who our speaker is, the 3rd is our set date, so that won't change no matter what. Thank you for all the comments, it seems a lot of people have good things to say about her. Can't wait!!

So what you are saying is I cannot be surprised that people haven't heard of someone who many consider a legend? I didn't cast apersions against the OP, I simply expressed my surprise that Ms. Rivera's name was so unrecognizable and tried to reassure her that Ms. Rivera should be an excellent addition to the CP lineup. Fortunately, the OP appears able to recognize my response as it was intended.
