The good news - spending Christmas at Disney!
The Bad news - spending Christmas at Disney in the RAIN!

So the forcast is calling for rain all weekend. We have CP ressies Christmas night. Do they cancel CP for rain? Can we get a refund? What do you think?

On the plus side, I am betting the crowds will be a bit lighter :umbrella:

Thanks! :umbrella:

I think they only cancel if there's lightning. Hopefully it will not rain. Have a great time!

Thanks Debbie,
I have my poncho, my mickey blankie and some warm clothes, so rain or shine, we will be there!

I've been there when they cancelled for rain (no lightening) -last year, I think it was on Wednesday, December 10, 5:15(?). I didn't go to that performance, so I don't know how they handled it. I only know because I went to the 6:45 performance, right after the rain, and I heard people talking about it. Hopefully, someone here knows more about what they do.

They may have changed the policy for rain this year. We were at the CP this year and it started to pour (6:45 show on 11/27). It wasn't a thunderstorm so I am not sure what they would do about that, but it was a very cold experience. Since the performers are all under cover, nothing from the show actually changed. Felt sorry for the people who paid for the packages and let because they didn't have ponchos with them, but that was their decision to not get one since it had rained off and on all day long. Of course it didn't start raining until after the show started, but they still had the late performance that night as well.

We attended the CP in the pouring rain last December. The show most definitely goes on! There are some seats in the theater that have an overhead covering...We stayed competely dry for the entire show. These seats are reserved for the CP package holders, but you are not guaranted a covered seat....People que very early for the CP. We waited in the rain with ponchos and umbrellas and were rewarded with a covered seat. Get there early with rain gear anand you should have no problem getting a dry seat. Have Fun! :flower:

I know there was alot of confusion when they did cancel, because it messed up PS times for many people who had to hurry to try to reschedule their dinner. Maybe that was the last time they cancelled. I kind of hope so. I know several people who had had PS at one resturaunt, then when the show got cancelled, they had to reschedule and ended up at a resturaunt they weren't crazy about because that was all that was available for their last minute switch.

I still think lightning is the key. If there is lightning in the area, it becomes a safety hazard sitting outdoors, especially with the trees in the seating area. Maybe you did not hear thunder or see lightning on the night they cancelled, but it's possible the weather service picked some up on radar in the area.

We were there on the 27th of Nov. also. It was raining pretty steady the whole show. They did escort most of the performers backstage with umbrellas back to the busses. We sat under the umbrellas in the eating area. Stayed dry and enjoyed the show.
