The family and I will be taking our 1st holiday trip(only our 2nd trip) to Disney from Dec 19-25. We would like to see the Candlelight Processional as this is our 1st time there during the holidays and don't know when we will be there again during the holidays. We are also on the DDP so we had planned to use this to make an ADR for the event(probably on the 24th). I just wanted to hear from those who have experience, is it worth making ADR(and spending 2 TS credits) for CP? DS will be just over a year old at the time and is an early bird so this would be for the lunch not dinner. Thanks!

I'm a fan of taking advantage of options that reduce my time in line. Some performers create much larger lines than others though. At a minimum, I would book something until I knew who the performer was going to be.

Whether it is worth 2 TS really depends on where you book, IMO. You are getting an appetizer (unless you book a buffet/family style servicing) and the shorter line for the extra credit . We usually end up purchasing one or two meals out of pocket when we use the regular dining plan, so I would run the numbers to see if it would be better to use the 2 credits or pay out of pocket.

I've heard Teppan Edo is a good choice for this and DD has never been to a hibachi restaurant so I thought it would work. Using 2 TS credits isn't a big deal if the the ADR is a big plus as we planned to pay 1 meal out of pocket anyway as we are planning to do Crystal Palace breakfast on Christmas. Our 180 is coming up quick and I know I can't book the CP until it is announced in July so that would mean missing out on another 1 or 2 ADRs.

Also do they announce the performers will be when you are allowed to make the ADRs? I would hate to book it and then find out in November that Kirk Cameron was the performer and have to scramble last minute to book something else. Thanks for all the help!

The performer schedule trickles in as the contracts are signed, so the narrators for your dates may or may not be known when you are booking. If I remember correctly, a shell schedule should be available when you book, but there may be some holes. A few years ago, we booked before we knew who it would be, and it turned out to be Edward James Olmos, a favorite of exH. You can cancel if you decide it isn't someone you want to see.

If I get the candlelight processional ADR do you get special seating? If i don't get the ADR will I not be able to get in?

On Dec 24, I would expect to not get in without a package or a very long wait in line (hours) no matter who the narrator is. If this is something you really want to do, I'd plan on the package. You don't get special seating, but you do get guaranteed seating.

Are the restaurant prices increased for this special booking?
I don't believe the prices themselves are higher, however it's almost impossible to get an ADR at any of the restaurants that you can book for the candlelight processional dinner because they reserve most of the tables for the event. And as the dinner package has appetiser, main course, dessert and drink it may be more than you would normally pay if you are paying OOP.

I wouldn't recommend the show with a 1 year old. It's not comfortable in the outdoor area and the show won't grab much attention for small kids.

On the 24th you are going to experience long lines everywhere. If you want to do anything that offers teh opportunity to make an ADR, I suggest that you take that opportunity or you may be very disappointed.

This show, depending on the narrator, will have a line formng early even with the CP package, so plan on heading straight to the queue after dinner. We were lucky enough to book our package just before Neil Patrick Harris was announced as our narrator. We ate at Coral Reef, adn then beat feet right over to the queue, got a great spot in line and then watched as more and more people lined up.

With a little one, I would decide how he will last during a meal, a line, and then a performance. I am not suggesting you opt out, but that you allow for a few hours that may be boring for a young child and be honest with yourself about his tolerance level. This is an expensive package if you don't stay for the show.

Not probably, it WILL be. Here's a list of last year's prices adult/child:

There's no special seating or reserved seating. It's essentially find your own seat, which is why being in line earlier is better because you'll have a better choice of seating.

There's 2 lines. One for the general public and one for people who have purchased the CP package. Both lines get VERY long. The general public line can be MASSIVE if there's an A-list story reader like Whoopie Goldberg, NPH, Sigourney Weaver, etc.

The CP package line is let in first. Once they've been seated, whatever seats (if any) are left, is then open to the public.
If you're going on the 24th, I would make the assumption that unless you purchase the CP package, don't expect to get in.
