Just curious as to what other parents have done as far as medical insurance goes when participating in the CP.... dd just got accepted and we need to know what direction to go in :cheer2: :cheer2:

check with your school.
if your school offers credit for the program then you will be considered full time. my school doesn't offer credit but they offer full time status for an internship so then i will be allowed to be underneath my parents insurance.

if you have some kind of career adviser go see them they will definitely help you out.

Since I'll have graduated, I was getting booted off my parents' insurance anyhow, so they went through our family insurance provider and have purchased 'emergency only' coverage for me for the duration of my program, just in case.

And :cheer2: for your daughter getting in!!!! I'm glad it all worked out for her in the end!

That's what we did - got Assurant (I think that is the name of it) for our daughter as she was not taking enough hours to stay on insurance for the past couple of semesters.

For me, I just have to be a FT student to stay on my parent's insurance. However, once I graduate next May (when I will be applying for Fall 2009), I will no longer be on the insurance.:guilty:

So glad your dd got in! I have been following your post. My ds is a junior in high school and is already planning on doing the CP. I'm researching things parents need to know while he's looking at everything else.
