We have a 10:20 ADR for CP on Sat: Dec.3. I heard the parade is being taped that day. Will we even be able to get to CP if things are roped off?

For safety's sake, they have to keep the walkways clear for pedestrians to go up and down Main Street, so you will be able to get to CP. Now, will it be insanely crowded? Yes. Should you get into MK at Rope Drop? Yes.

Are you completely sure you want to visit MK on 12/3?

It's our last day, and we were planning on doing rd, CP, then head back to the resort.

We had an ADR for Liberty Tree for lunch during Christmas parade taping day (we had no idea that was happening that day until we arrived). It's very organized, though. When you arrive you'll have a certain section of turnstiles to go through (CM's and some signs will point you there). Once through the turnstiles you will be directed to the far right side of the entrance, out the gates, and around the back side of Main St. There will be large lines of people checking in for the "television audience" side and they are the only ones allowed on Main St.

The side entrance dumps you out into the section that is right beside the Plaza restaurant going into Tomorrowland. They may have a CM there that will let you cross over (at a specific time) to walk over to CP. You will not be allowed to stop and watch the parade though, they will keep you moving. It's chaotic and super-crowded, but it is well-run. We had to walk all around Tomorrowland and through Fantasyland to get over to Liberty Tree and then we had to wait until a specified time (approx. 10 minutes) for a CM to lower the parade rope and let people cross. I have a feeling this is what you'd probably have to do for CP as well (meaning you would have to go all the way around the park, they probably won't let you cut over/across Main St.).

The restaurant was practically empty and after lunch we went on a few rides with next to no lines. The parade was kind of creepy in that they do so many run-thrus with and without music so you'll see people in the parade standing in place, with a smile frozen on their face, waving, with no music playing. Or characters dancing around and it's just silent. Pretty interesting how they edit all of that together.

It was our last day there of the trip and I do have to say that going around the back side of Main St., smelling the delivery truck fumes, and people loading and unloading stuff kind of took away from the "magic". But we were in the "last day slump" anyways ;).

Was wondering about this myself... as we have 10:20 on Dec 2nd. Was thinking we'd end up having to walk all the way from tomorrowland and around the whole park to get to CP. am hoping we can use the sidewalk on main street or cut through the stores.
