Cozumel

Just thinking perhaps it would be good to hire a car and do our own thing n Cozumel. Has anyone done this.

On our honeymoon, we took a taxi from ship (RCCL Majesty of Seas) to Chankanaab...had a great time....best snorkeling...

All three times we've been there. Used Less Pay, which is about 500 feet south of the Punta Langosta pier (go to end of the pier, then turn right [water on your right]) just past the Naval station in the ground floor of the Hotel Barracuda). We rented the "Safari" twice, which is a VW "thing" with a convertible top (seats five) and has storage (for diving gear, etc.).

These aren't much to look at, but you couldn't beat the price ($30 for the day with insurance - summer '04)
