Cozumel snorkeling excursion via 3rd party

We're headed on the Fantasy next week and stopping in Cozumel. We'd like to go snorkeling and the DCL excursion we wanted is already full. (No surprise there; we're late to the booking party.) Has anyone ever used a 3rd party supplier for snorkeling in Cozumel? We're considering Cozumel Snorkeling by Maybe Tours. Seems to get great reviews on Trip Advisor but I'm hesitating since this is not DCL-approved and I've not been to Mexico before. Thoughts from those who've used an outside provider are appreciated!

I wouldn't think twice about using someone with good reviews on Trip Advisor!

What the previous poster said. We often book outside DCL, the options are usually better and cheaper.

When you book outside the cruise line you're losing that guarantee of the ship not leaving without you. But any highly rated tour company should have experience working with cruise passengers and working around the timing of things.

The one thing I always look for is some sort of indicator that the tour is for cruise passengers, i.e. it outright stating that, but especially when they ask for your cruise line info.

Hi! Did you end up using this 3rd party tour group? If so, how was it?

Yes, we did and they were great! It was a bit tricky to find them after the taxi dropped us off at the marina but found them eventually. My family had a super time and we’d do it again. I’m guessing experienced snorkeled might find it too basic but for us it was an amazing experience. My kids were 18, 17 and 13 (plus me and my hubby).
