Cozumel - Secret River and Playa del Carmen

Has anyone done this excursion recently? Past reviews mention lunch, as do current reviews of visits not done through DCL, but the DCL blurb only mentions a snack. Does anyone know what is served on the DCL excursion?

It was a whole buffet of food. We sailed May of 2014 though so it could of changed. Warning I felt a majority of the food was to spicy for me but my wife loved all of it. The excursion was great and I would highly recommend it!!!!

Thanks Vegam060! One more question...did you have time in Playa del Carmen before you took the ferry back to Cozumel? The current excursion lists 45 minutes of shopping time there and I'm wondering if they have done away with lunch so people will buy food there. If you did, I'm hoping the snack reference is just a misprint, since it is such a long excursion.

We did have shopping time and where you get off in Play del carmen theres a nice shopping center as well as a public beach so we had the option to do either we chose shopping. We bought a couple souveniers from there. But like I said this was over a year ago so its possible things changed. Another warning there were quite a few people who got sea sick taking the smaller boat to Playa del Carmen. A young lady in my party when we got off the boat had to sit down for awhile so if sea sickness is something you fear bring whatever drug helps you get over it.

Just did this last month on the WBPC. It was a fantastic excursion. There was a full buffet of local foods (and a bit light on the protein if you don't like eggs) and it was very tasty. There are chips, desserts, and bottled beverages for purchase. They serve water & juice from pitchers.

After the excursion, we had about 45 minutes for shopping or beach time.

Definately a meal. We also got hibiscus juice to drink. The shopping was more than long enough. We were there last month.
