Cozumel car rental?

Husband wants to know all the info on renting a car in Cozumel for the day.
When you get off the boat how close is the nearest car rental agency?
Can we walk to the rental company or do we need a taxi?
Would you recommend renting a car in Cozumel and who might that be?
Those of that have rented could you share where you went and what you seen.
Would you rent again or just book with with DCL?
We won't be visiting the beaches but would love to drive around and see as much as possible taking our time.

We rented cars in Grand Cayman & Cozumel.

Grand Cayman: Save your money & time. Over an hour by the time we were on the road and ended up enjoying the places on the bus route the best anyway.

Cozumel: Budget Rental Car is across the street from the dock and up some stairs to the right (sorry can't be more specific - but it was veeerry close). Walked in (no reservation) and rented a full size $89 US. Went down some stairs, hopped in the car & off we went. Less than 20 minutes after getting off the ship. Was definately worth it!

As far as the sites, can't really help you there - We mainly beach club hopped and checked out some resorts.
