Has anyone used the app to get on the Cowfish wait list? How long did you have to wait? We will be going mid-March (not Easter week though). Do they do priority seating for on-site hotel guests? I hate waiting for restaurants. If it's going to be bad, I might not try it or make a backup ressie. I don't want to waste too much park time, and long waits and children just don't mix. Thanks

We used it the first week of November. Since you can put yourself on the list if you're within 1 mile (I think that's the distance) of the restaurant, we put our name in as we were leaving RPR on the boat. By the time we were halfway to CityWalk, I got a text that our table was ready. This was probably around 6pm on a Thursday, so YMMV at busier times. I do believe they also do priority seating for on-site guests, but we didn't test that out.

Yes, they do priority seating for on-site guests most of the time. We did that in October and waited about 15 minutes vs. a 40-45 minute "regular" wait.

Using the app it would be cool if you could hang out in your room or at a park until the table is ready, then head over. I just wonder if they'd hold the table that long.

Get the app for the Orlando site, not the generic one. It requires location services to be on, because it won't let you get on the wait list until you are a mile or half a mile from the restaurant. I found out about it from either their website or a review.

The Cowfish app. You'll find it on their site.

:offtopic: Is that your Mini? I just got a 4 door Cooper S in Electric Metallic Blue. Is yours that color, or a different color? Good looking car. I am loving mine. In fact, I need to take defensive driving soon for the ticket I got the second week I had it:guilty:

Yes! Mine is an '05 Electric Blue S that was delivered to me 11 years ago today. My Wife also has one same year same color. We both bought them new before we met.

Ok guys, totally OT here!! BUT....tell me about your Minis and how they've held up! Fairly reliable? I know BMW parts are $$ and I guess you need a BMW-specific mechanic? DD14 is convinced she wants one (although a lot can change in 2 teen years!!) and I want to know what I'm in for. I feel like they're safe, and she feels comfortable in one because she's very petite. But a first car usually gets wrecked (at least a little), so I'm a bit leery. I'm more of a muscle car and SUV gal, so I need some input! TIA!!

They are very safe. My Wife rolled hers on the highway, walked away and the car was repaired! Our two have been very reliable but others have had worse luck. We are lucky to have a MINI-specific mechanic nearby, Detroit Tuned. You also become part of an enthusiastic community if you are interested in that kind of thing.

I have only had mine since September, but we have and still have BMWs. Our BMWs have been fairly reliable. There have been minor electrical issues from time to time, but the engine and transmissions have been bullet proof. We have a Mini dealer in town, so that's where mine will go. They feel incredibly safe and of high quality. It seems everything nowadays comes with air bags everywhere, ABS, and traction control. I know that some years are less reliable than others, at least according to one of our BMW/Mini mechanics. One bad thing is that I think most of the Minis have a really bad blind spot on the driver's side. I am used to this because of my convertible, but it is definitely something to be aware of.

My Mini is replacing an older BMW 5 series that got totaled by the other driver. We already have a full size 4 door that DH drives. I wanted something that could fit us 3 in town, was sporty, and had a manual transmission. I am trying to keep the miles down on my BMW convertible, since it's ~15 years old now, and I want to be buried with it:) So, I definitely wanted a daily driver. I looked for used, but the prices were just ridiculous. When DS starts driving in 6-7 years, the Mini will most likely become his car. I definitely wouldn't buy new for a new driver, because it will definitely get wrecked.

Oh yes, definitely not a new one for a new driver!! A guy I know at work autocrosses Minis and so does his daughter, so in thinking he might have some good connections for finding a good used one--maybe with a roll cage! LOL. And I totally understand--I tell my kids neither of them are getting my Corvette cuz I'm being buried in it ;). Thanks!!

Ok, so maybe I'm only HALF kidding about that roll cage!! I'm not thrilled about not being able to have Earl from the gas station work on it if needed (never know where you'll need a mechanic!), but with cell phones these days, you're not as far from help as it used to be. Thanks for the feedback and glad your wife was ok!

After driving at the track and doing track schools and DH does amateur autoracing, I am really disappointed in what's considered "safe". I wouldn't mind having a roll cage and 6 point harnesses. My convertible actually has a roll bar instead of roll hoops, because I used to track it. It did have racing seats with 6 point harnesses at one point; however, we had to switch them back to stock once I got far long in my pregnancy. Nothing looks funnier than seeing a pregnant get in and out of a racing setup:)

Both of our MINIs have 4-point harnesses. We've done a few track weekends. She used to be a regular down on The Dragon.

I'll pretend to keep this thread on track by posting a picture of my little buddy, Alain la Vache.

Love the pick of the Cow Fish. It's so cute.

I have taken my convertible to the Dragon twice. I haven't had a chance to take the Mini or my Vespa. Someday. It's a bit far from Texas, so we don't get out there much.

We go every year for MINIs On The Dragon. Last 2 years we've taken our new Morgan 3 Wheeler and twice I've had my CTS-V Station Wagon down there. It was quite nimble for such a big powerful car.
