Hi all,

This may sound like a silly question, but do you like this place better atmosphere wise for lunch or dinner?

We have always gone at night and had wonderful experiences.

However, we went for lunch last Sunday and it wasn't as good. Service was good, but we sent food back as it wasn't up to standard. Cold sweet potato fries aren't nice..........

We'll stick to dinner from now on.

If you don't mind me hijacking this thread a little, does Cowfish not take reservations? It's not showing up under City Walk on the UO site. We were planning to go for dinner but is it typically a long wait? Would it be better to go at lunch from a wait time perspective?

I'll keep this in mind and go during dinner, if I ever decide to do Cowfish again.

Everyone on here seems to rave about the place and while we went and I thought it was decent, it wasn't mind blowing, and my father didn't enjoy himself that much as he didn't think the experience was anything special. The calamari was great in my opinion, but as you stated, the fries we also had with our burger were cold. Also, the burger came out rather quickly (even though we asked for a well done burger) and was not at a hot enough temperature to make me think it was cooked fresh. However, we didn't say anything negative about the experience to the person who was serving us, as typically I do not say anything unless the food is cooked completely wrong / inedible to me.

While it wasn't an amazing experience, we agreed that we wouldn't automatically dismiss the idea of coming back especially, because the calamari for one example, was perfectly cooked (which can be difficult to pull off) and the sauce with it I highly enjoyed. That being said, like I said, if we go back I'll suggest with whoever I'm with that we should try to enjoy it for dinner. Besides, while dinner might be the busiest time to go, sometimes it's the best time, as things are cooked at high intensity and therefore more likely to be fresher (like fries for example).
