Cowboy Dinner Show at DLP

Would love to hear from anyone who has been to this dinner show whilst at DLP.................what was the show like, how long did it last, is it in French and what was the food like? In your opinion would it hold the attention of a 7 year old boy who loved Medieval Times in Orlando?!!!!

I saw the show in 2006 and thought it was great. The food was good, nothing to rave about but no complaints either. Your drinks are kept full for the whole show. I'm presuming if your kid likes cowboys (or frontierland for that matter) then he should enjoy it but I can't really tell. The show is fairly long (can't remember exactly) but its not like your sitting and doing nothing for the whole time. Also, there can be a fair bit of dust kicked up from the animals. I was sat in the front row and I didn't have a problem with it. We booked our tickets for it when we booked the holiday through Disney.

We did the Buffalo Bill's Wild West show a couple of years ago. It was a lot of fun. If I remember correctly, the show lasted between an hour and an hour and a half. The narration is in French and English. There is horseback riding, wagons, etc. Lots of livestock. The food is very similar to what is served at the Hoop de Doo Review in WDW, and also to Medieval Times. If your seven-year-old liked Medieval Times, he is sure to like this show. The show can be booked in advance.

yeah he will probs love it, it is about an hour and half and in english mostly ( they are real native americans and cowboys) the food is cowboy cook out type food, a rib a sausage, a chicken stew type thing. the kids loved it, there is only one bit of bread each but your glass of either coke or beer will be kept full the whole time and with all the hat waving you wont worry that much abotu how long the show is. we loved it and even given the cost will be going again this year, also you get to keep a free cowboy hat to take home each. they cater for vegetarian, gluten free and even have a garlic free menu ( im allergic to garlic you see) just warn them when you get there and they will seat you in a certain place so they can tell who you are

Every visit to DLRP, we try to do something we have never done before so we have booked for March this year at the time of booking with Disney.

Expected to pay brochure price of £33 per adult and £22 per child but was then told that two of our children would be free, therefore a bargain at £88 for five of us.

I believe it €59 per adult and €39 per child on the door and do not know whether the free child spaces are availble.

i too have a garlic alergy and was worried about managing we have a premium dinning package and are going to be eating mostlyt in the inovation buffet for dinner

in WDW we learnt to ask the chef and they were really helpful telling us what we could and could not eat (would you belive that in the crystal palace in the MK their is garlic salt in the brocoli !!!)

do you have any experiences of garlic free meals in any other dlp restauants

[A Small World]

We spent an evening at Buffalo Bills last Easter and loved it. The entertainment kept us amused for over an hour and DD (7 at the time) loved the cheering, waving her hat and banging her cutlery and plate on the table. Although the food wasnt haute cuisine it was typical wild west food served on tin plates and was very enjoyable.
We are considering booking again for when we go this Easter

We are taking our two youngest grandkids aged just under 3 and just under 4 as well as our DS13 and older grandson aged 14, and were wondering whether the two younger ones would enjoy it. They are quite robust kids and certainly have no fear of noise. My DS13 loved the hoop-de-doo in America last year so I would love to take him and my older grandson to this, but do not want to waste a night if the younger ones will not enjoy it.

As you can read in my trippie, the HDDR in America was a hugely successful night, and my DS13 wanted to go back & do it again, but due to our packed schedule we were unable to fit it in, but it will be the first thing we book when we return.

We booked the show this morning for 12th Feb!! Very excited.

We couldn't resist the kids go free and at £66 for the 4 of us i think thats good value.
Also booked the character tea party for the 14th Feb.

Just have to request my veggie meal at Buffalo Bills when we arrive.

All the reviews i have read have been very good and i'm sure my boys(7 and 5) will love the show.

They are quite robust kids and certainly have no fear of noise.

kevg1889, I am sure they will love it. I'd say it's only children that are afraid of noise that wouldn't enjoy it ~ if yours dont mind it they will have a whale of a time!! We thought it was a great fun evening and although the food isn't the best you'll ever taste it was much better than we were expecting!

We went on Xmas eve with our 6 year old daughter and really had a great time. She thoroughly enjoyed it and really got into the spirit of cheering on her "team" (you are given a hat with a coloured band on it and have to support your team thoughout the different challanges they have to do. It lasts 1 1/2 hours although there is live entertainment if you turn up earlier in the bar. The food was alright and quite sufficient, probably a litlle better than I was anticipating. The narration and chatter is in french and english and there is no problem with understanding what is going on, it is very visual. I would certainly recom mend it and I am sure if my 6 year old daughter liked it, a 7 year old boy would love it!

Does anyone know how far in advance you can book this show on the website, as it is only showing up to end of March at the moment. Do you get a choice of seat/different package or is it one price for all tickets and then you're just seating when you arrive?

Not sure how far in advance you can book. It might be 60 days like the rest of the restaurants.

We weren't given any choice of packages. Just which time and day. We went for the 6.30pm show as we felt 9.30pm would be too late for the children to be eating.

You choose your day and time when booking. We've always gone for the 6.30pm show too, I couldn't wait til 9.30 to eat. LOL.

You're allocated a seat along with the rest of your "team", the theatre is split into 4 different sections, Green, Yellow, Red and Blue and it's your job to support your team on the ground, led by your team clown. It's fabulous fun, we've been twice and my boys have asked if we could do it again next visit.

This is a pretty good snippet, which doesn't give much of the show away, ignore the title, though it's not the opening but you'll get an idea of what everyone means by "noisy"
