has anyone eaten here recently? I'm contemplating it for our upcoming trip, do they do character dining everyday? from what I've read they do the tea party late afternoon, so do they do character dining at lunch? also do they have a vegetarian meal option?

lot's of questions I know, I'm getting into planning mode ;)

edit: just read the menu Carrie Cat posted showing a veggie burger ... so that just leaves has anyone been lately??

I was there on Thursday, the character lunch runs from 12 (or possible 12.30?) until 3.30 each day.

We got there at about 2pm and there was a long queue to get the food, but it was easy to find a table and there were quite a few characters to see.

We found that it wasn't the best organised character meal we had, as quite often the characters would miss out complete sections and lots of families mobbed the characters when they were nowhere near there table.

We met Tigger, Daisy & Pluto. There was also Hook, Donald & Woody there.. but they never made it to our table :sad1:.

All in all, it was a good meal and we would definitely go back.

The man in front of us had the vegetarian meal option and it was all cooked to order for him, so if anything, you'll be likely to get a nice hot, fresh meal! :thumbsup2

Hi, we did the Tea Party 3 weeks ago, it runs from 4.30-6.30.

There were lots of pastrie's, Crepe's, Fruit Salad, Yoghurts, sweets & bottled water to help yourself to, we did this more than once & took some waters for later. ;)
Squash & OJ was served at the table many time's, plus there is Tea, coffee & Hot choc.

The Character interaction for us was fantastic , all the character went to each & every table & spent good time at each....we saw Woody, Pluto, Goofy, Chip n Dale, Donald & Daisy & Pinnoccio. We had lots of cuddles with each one of them & Daisy danced with my daughter around the tables .

It is on our list of things to do on our next visit :dance3:

I really like the sound of this and hope they don't stop doing it completely!

I've been contemplating doing this too, as a change from cafe Mickey but it seems a lot of people who have been really happy with the character interaction have been to the tea party rather than lunch.

Can anyone tell me how much the tea party is now? I know this must be listed somewhere so apologies but I can only find the lunch prices..... Thanks! :)

Are the characters in any special costume at the Cowboy Cookout? DLR Anaheim had a similar character meal for a while and the characters appeared in cowboy outfits.

The tea party sounds fab but I read on another forum that they are not doing it from november. And possibly the lunch won't be running either. I really hope if this the case, it gets moved somewhere else as will be bad to lose a character meal.

Anyone heard anything? :confused3

We ate there last Wednesday at 1pm.

Hardly any queue for food, lots of it and everyone enjoyed it!

We had Woody, Hook, Donald duck, Daisy duck, Pluto and Tigger, all visited us at our table.

I think our side of the restaurant had more characters as we were near where they came out and also it was smaller so they all followed the same route around the area, visiting every table (we sat on the right as you enter the restaurant).

We used our half board vouvhers for the meal and would definately recommend it.

We had lunch here last week too - 11.50 am on Monday. It wasn't that busy when we went in but I still queued for about 25 mins or so to order our food! There was only one cashdesk on at first. After I had been queuing about 15 minutes another desk opened which helped.

That was the only downside of the meal though. As I said on another thread, the food was good/hot/lots of it. The character interaction was great - probably one of the best we had and we ate at Inventions, Auberge & Cafe Mickey too.

We saw Woody, Goofy, Daisy & Donald & Pluto. The band were quite good too. The characters came around at least once and played lovely with my girls and the other children - Woody playing hide and seek was priceless!

It was about 79 euros for the 4 of us as I forgot to ask for Dream Pass discount :sad2:!

It looks like it might not be on when we go back in November (it is not mentioned in the brochure) but if it is we will definitely do again!

I have photos of the food (still sorting my hundreds of pictures) and will add to the review thread when I sort them!

I'm not sure - I think CBCO is still classed as a counter service restaurant so perhaps not. I am a shareholder and hadn't thought about using my card for that reason - I was just going to use my AP - but forgot! :rolleyes1

I think it has to be table service proper for you to be able to use SH discount.... But I could be wrong, I nearly always am :lmao:.

I am contemplating going here on Monday, does anyone know if its OK that my 3year old doesnt have a meal and shares with me? Or will I need to buy him a meal? I just dont think he will eat that much so would rather he shared mine!

Essentially this is a counter service restaurant so there shouldn't be a problem with him sharing with you. :goodvibes
