Is Cowboy Cookout now only a character meal? I see that they do a character lunch or character afternoon tea - are they the only options now or can you go in for a non-character (ie. cheaper!) meal?

Also, what is the character interaction like at lunch here, compared to Cafe Mickey or Inventions? We used to love Cowboy Cookout as it was so if the interaction is good then maybe we'll choose that over CM or Inv's.

Hi Tinkjon,

We did the Cookout Tea Party during our stay.
I can say that the character interaction was fantastic
my DD got soooo many pics with the following characters,
Woody ( no Jessie though :sad2: ) Donald & Daisy Duck, Pluto,
Goofy, Chip & Dale & Pinocchio.

Not sure if Jessie is meant to be part of the Cookout or not, would have been nice & have made sense to have her there though. x

Cowboy Cookout is only open at lunch and for the tea party now, and both are character meals only.

I'd love to do the tea party when we Christmas visit but can never figure out how to fit it in! I guess you'd go for an early light lunch and light dinner a few hours later (say, Bella Notte for lunch and Earl Of Sandwich for dinner) and try not to think of it as a meal as such, more of a character experience with added bonus of drinks, cakes and the chance to get out of the cold?

We've just done lunch here this week. It was DH's favourite character meal (we did CBC, Auberge, Inventions & Cafe Mickey). I think for the character interaction, it was probably my favourite as well. Out of all the places we ate, I felt this was the place where the characters really went out of their way to play with the children rather than just have a photo taken, sign an autograph and go off.

We saw Woody, Goofy, Donald & Daisy & Pluto. Woody in particular was fab with the girls and other children, playing hide & seek and dancing etc.

The food wasn't bad either (the ribs were huge!), lots of it too, I think it was one of the cheaper meals we had as well. I'll do a proper review when I sort out photos etc.

I think JothP said they aren't advertising this in the winter season brochure so not sure where it is going after that? :sad2: We would probably do it again in November if it were still on.

HTH

I've just read on another forum that the tea party isn't going to be on from november :sad2: but not sure what's happening with the lunch?

Has anyone heard anything?:confused3

It was on my list for november & Will be disappointed if they get rid of a character meal as reports from cafe mickey mention the lack of characters.
