Has anyone been to WDW recently since the molecular vs rapid antigen test requirement change (not the most recent with the no testing necessary)?

Our two grandchildren who are 7 and 11 are not vaccinated however both of their parents are. I understand presently they will still need to test to come home to Canada but do not need to quarantine. However do they need a PCR or Rapid test or does it matter as long as it's negative - of course the Rapid test is preferable.

Hopefully by May 1st that will change once again and they won't need to test to fly home.

You are best to go to the government site and read the rules for unvaccinated travellers.

Also you should check with their school board if they will be allowed back after traveling (because they are unvaccinated).

If you qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller, your unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children are exempt from quarantine, without any limitations on their activities. This means, for example, they don’t need to wait 14 days before attending school, camp or daycare.

Unless otherwise exempt, all travellers 5 years of age or older who do not qualify as fully vaccinated must continue to provide proof of an accepted type of pre-entry COVID-19 test result:

  • a valid, negative antigen test, administered or observed by an accredited lab or testing provider, taken outside of Canada no more than one day before their initially scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or marine port of entry; or
  • a valid negative molecular test taken no more than 72 hours before their initially scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or marine port of entry; or
  • a previous positive molecular test taken at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days before their initially scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or marine port of entry. It is important to note that positive antigen test results will not be accepted.

Thanks so much, this answers my question. If only their parents had had them vaccinated we wouldn't have to worry about this. But when the DSIL gets pericarditis from his 2nd shot, I don't blame them for being worried to do the children.
