COVID refunds for events, issues

4/13/20 UPDATE
Have made two additional calls to StubHub, today spoke with what appeared to be a knowledgeable employee out of Salt Lake City. She confirmed I am in the loop for the full refund, apologized for continued delays ( as they are trying to secure funds back from venues) another 3 weeks likely. She offered and Did send an email again Confirming that full refund coming. Appreciate that.
My thoughts are still: how quickly they take that money and how SLOW they refund it.

I have tickets to see Hamilton in LA at the Patages Theater on 6/6, As of now, performances through 5/31 have been suspended and refunds are being processed. Even if the theater is back open on 6/8, I am not sure we will want to go and be in large crowds. I am taking my 80+ year old Mom and I think it is just not a good idea. Will give it a bit more time and see how things are progressing, but this has been in the back of my mind.

I understand and Agree with you completely.

I have tickets for that day too. I hope they do end up canceling cause I don’t feel comfortable going either. I guess I will have to wait and see if I get a refund or just lose the money. 😔

UPDATE: put in another call to SHub. Very nice person that said that I should not have been told my claim was tagged. She said it the inside lingo used to let the reps know the file is approved for a refund and await batching To cut a check. Now.. when that check is coming is again allegedly 3 weeks. She offered to send me an email confirming the full refund Is being processed. I did get the email. So, still waiting. Will get the letter over to bank dispute dept to offer up more proof that money is owed and offered. perhaps bank will “ resolve” before SH gets around to receiving money In from vendors, to then send refund checks Out.
Yeah, would never use /recommend them again imho

Funny that you have tickets to Hamilton the same day as me! With Governor Newsom's most recent comments about thinking mass gatherings will not be happening all summer (June-August), I am thinking this will get cancelled. There is no way they can have that many people in that space. Hoping they announce soon and that a refund will be forthcoming. I still want to see the show, but at this point, we will not be going in June.

StubHub has been gouging people for years on seats that should have been available for anyone to buy instead of them getting a huge portion of the seats. Changing you policy mid way is cowardly and unethical. What a shame. Sorry to all of you who may end up losing your $$

The issue of refunds and credits is going to be a big problem for a long time. I received a full refund on a flight from Delta--they offered a credit but I asked for a refund--the important thing here is that is that I called and asked. It would have automatically gone to a future credit if I hadn't called and asked, citing their own policy of changing my flight to a connecting flight instead of a non stop and delaying departure by more than 2 hours. I have close friends with a $2000 payment to a VRBO host who will not even return their emails right now. They are starting an ugly dispute. We also have 2 weeks planned in Europe in July, with about 4K invested in flights, tickets and Airbnb. No idea what we will be able to recoup on that. Right now Airbnb says they will refund all travel arrangements through May 31. Waiting and watching to see what will come and what we can do about things. It's hard for everyone, including the vendors who have sold you your tickets and reservations.

The venue is the one that gives the Tix away, who actually recommended SH as reliable! I’ve meant to document this entire debacle with them, so thx for the reminder. BBB has been unresponsive to date, ( no surprise there.. ) the bank refunded me ( albeit temporarily) while they investigate but that too imho , has been my efforts and disappointing from their end. That concern will be addressed by me at a later time.
In reality, the potential loss of this money will not effect my overall life, but the Principle of this entire Stinky Stub Hub Situation is what truly irks me. It just should not be! I shouldn’t be dealing with this at all. I’d certainly never use their service again nor recommend them.

So, today I’ll follow with my bank and SH and just document as I’ve done all along. I’m Very Annoyed it’s taking up my time and effort but I intend to see it thru the final resolution.
Stay Healthy all and Best of Luck navigating thru these refund/cancels debacles!

Our NBA game for March 25 in Orlando was postponed (cancelled?) but Stubhub claims that until the NBA officially cancels the season they cannot refund cash. They say that if we are given tickets for a future game we can sell them. We are from Canada and were going to see the game during our Disney trip. I think I am going to try the cc dispute with my bank and see what happens. Needless to say we will never buy from them again.

UPDATE: So after trying numerous times to deal with Stubhub and not getting anywhere (not answering phone, refusing refund) we went through our cc and disputed the charge on the grounds that the game never happened and that we were originally promised a refund if that was to occur. The bank agent said that if we had an e-mail from Stubhub offering a refund even though they later changed their policy that that was all they needed to start a claim. We did indeed have that and after we e-mailed it to the bank a file was opened. I am happy to report that today we received our refund on our cc.
Hope this helps other people who have dealt with this company and have lost money.

Please wait. Wait until day 22. Pointless to dispute at this time, wastes the efforts of the dispute department, delays somebody from tackling a genuine issue. Disputing a charge is way, wsy down on the list of https://www.elliott.org/answers/how-to-fix-your-own-consumer-problem/

It’s past day 30... wasting their time in the dispute dept? It’s what they get paid to do. I’m a premier plus business/reg customer and so far, their system is not impressive. No updates, failed to send original link to upload documents. On my diary again for next week. We shall see.

FINAL UPDATE: so, after me pursuing directly with StubHub and many many calls and emails later, And my bank ( which is another issue I intend to write about with them regarding delayed ineffective handling) I did receive a FULL REFUND for the ticket purchase. Would I use them again? Nope. Stay Safe All.
