This is the first we've had a large window a/c unit. It's big and DH was not going to remove, just voer it. But now that it's below 30° we are getting a draft. He covered the outside of the unit with plastic last night but that doesn't stop the air from seeping in around the sides. Any tips or should he get the neighbor to help him take it out for the season?

Could you maybe seal it off somehow from the inside too. that might help.

I don't know really I don't have one myself.

Take it out.

We have 3 a/c units in our house, and even though it's a PIA, every spring we put them in and every fall we take them out.

the draft is going to be there regardless of how well you try to stop it, the windows don't seal correctly unless shut.

Best thing to do is take it out - it is a pain - but the only way to eliminate drafts.
