If the tattoos are tasteful, should they still be covered up in family oriented areas, such as WDW??

My sister has 5- (ankle, lower back, foot, 2 on area below belly button) Mine's about the size of a quarter on my lower left hip..

Trashy if shown?? :confused3

Well, some of what you mentioned are(or should be) private--lower back, lower abdomen, lower hip. So keep 'em covered. I don't think anyone would be offended by tattoos on the ankle, foot or arms.

The different tattoo's are interesting, as long as they are in good taste should been seen, I personnaly have two, mine are Disney related

I agree with the above. I have 2 (Also Disney related) and they are only visible when I wear my bathing suit. I figure if you got 'em you should be comfortable enough showing them. Some people do get offended by some tatoos though.

If the tatoos aren't trashy to have on your skin, then they're not trashy to display when that bit of skin would normally be on display.

I don't have any tattoos. My wife doesn't have any tattoos. I think it's a vile and silly choice FOR ME.

But I have no care or judgment AT ALL about what others voluntarily do to their own bodies. I don't find tattoos the least bit offensive. I can't imagine how anybody could feel offended by seeing a tattoo on another person. Now, if there is something about the tattoo that's tasteless or vulgar, sure, cover it up. But I don't say that BECAUSE it's a tattoo. If it were on a t-shirt I'd say the same thing.

Your skin, your business. I won't tell you not to get tatts, you won't tell me not to eat too many Dole Whips. Agreed??? :rotfl:

I have a couple (Cat in the Hat & Mad Hatter) and I wouldn't hide them (although they don't normally show).

I figure - only cover them up if they are on a part of your body that should be covered up anyway (and they are in good taste). I don't have any tattoo's but my husband has one and it is in good taste - not something I wouldn't want my child to see. :thumbsup2

NO WAY!!! don't cover them up! Unless of course you have one ala Janet Jackson in which Mickey and Minnie are being less than appropriate...it's on her tummy...it made me dislike her a bit after I found that out...that's just...WRONG!

otherwise...be proud of your body art!! My older sister has one on each arm, four on her back, one on her hip, one on each ankle, one her toe and one on top of her foot! My little sister has one on her lower back and one on the back of her neck that says "Sasta" which means "satisfied" in Irish... :confused3 :rotfl: They are both in my wedding party and I think it's great that her tattoos will be on display along with her pink silk dress!!! I on the otherhand I am tattoo free and I do not have my ears pierced either! Of course that is because I am the "Good" daughter... ;)

There is nothing wrong with showing a tattoo (as long as it is in good taste) at WDW. You will see plenty of tattoos while you are there.
I have 2 (ankle and lower back) but they are not Disney related.
I would love to get a Disney related tattoo. Loved the tattoo picture of tinkerbell!
Someone should start a post of disney tattoo pictures!

I think the same rules should apply as the t-shirts...as long as the tattoo is tasteful and not offensive, show it off!! I can't wait to show mine!!!

Well, my DP has tats on both legs( none of them are offensive) and she is planning on wearing shorts when we go down there. In my opinion why should she have to be hot walking around the parks just so people won't be offended. :confused3 She is very used to people staring and pointing at them so she is pretty much used to it. So if you are comfortable with them and yourself I say go and have a great time!!! :cool1:

Show them! I have a total of twelve and am in the process of getting my leg (knee to ankle) done and I plan on wearing capris. :thumbsup2

I agree. If they're not offensive, show them!

(One caveat: if you need to wear really revealing clothing for them to show, please keep covered!!)

Why would it be trashy to show them in WDW as long as they are tastfull tattoos. Its who you are... no need to cover them up for the mouse unless you need your hieny hanging out to show them off!

In my neck o' the woods (So Fla) tattoos have become almost mainstream. I wouldn't think about covering them as I don't "think" about them. They're just part of my skin. My considerations at Disney would be to wear comfortable clothes...if my tattoos show, they show. Same with my BF and DD. Ours aren't pornographic or anything and although some might find my BF's skull tatt offensive (I don't), we're not covering again for the reason I listed above...we just don't "think" about it.

BTW I have 4 Disney and 1 memorial tattoo and getting more!

I totally agree with this statement! :p
