Please fill me in on the Cove Cafe'. I love a latte in the morning and it looks like they serve cocktails in the afternoon and evening.

Couple photo's for ya Here :teeth:

They serve a variety of coffee drinks, both hot and cold (there is a charge for all the coffee drinks)

They also have cocktails (also a charge)

and a food case where in the mornings there are fresh pastries and in the evenings they put out cheese and crackers....these are complimentary....

We would bring a glass of wine, get a seat on Deck 10 and the pick up some cheese and crackers and watch the world sail by.....loved it!!!

I don't drink coffee at all, but they had a decent chai tea latte (not like Starbucks...but it was fine)

They also have a lot of books and magazines, a big screen TV and some computer terminals....

Actually, They have lot of teas.. They can make any rink on the boat too. They share part of the area with Signals. If you see Lordess or Patrick, they will take wonerful care of you.

on our last cruise my DH and I had breakfast at the Cove Cafe every morning -most times we were the only ones there and we would have iced mochas and fresh croissants...so peaceful and relaxed...I wish we were there right now.

All your beverages will cost you but the food and snacks are free.

Stop by in the afternoon and try their mochaccino (which is their version of a cafe mocha with ice cream) and snack on some of their chocolate chip muffins...oh it was one of our favorite places to hang out apart from the spa!!

You simply must stop by and try something!! :thumbsup2

Normal hot teas, there is not charge, but the speaclity teas are lie Thunderbolt and such.

Um, does anyone know if they sell cokes there? I would love an adult spot to enjoy a pastry :teeth: but don't like coffee and hot tea. TIA

Barb

I had an assam, and it was lovely. There was a charge, I can't recall how much but it was around the same as a coffee if I remember correctly. They had a row of about 10 types of quality loose teas there - I am a junkie myself

I completely agree!

Love the chai tea latte and the expresso brownie from Starbucks. I never visited Cove Cafe on our cruise. Guess I'll have to try it next time. So they have pastries and other snacks all free?

The castaway club web site has a Cove Cafe menu from November 2005. It say specialty teas are 4.25 but it also says "all specialty teas served in a Tea Pot". I don't know how much tea you get for that amount, though.

I didn't know they were open in the morning. Glad to hear it as cappuccino is my caffeine of choice and I wanted to be able to get one of a morning. Does anyone know how early the open? Are they open by 6am??

When we sailed in October the Cove Cafe opened each morning at 7AM and was open until midnight.

We were usually there between 7:30 - 8:00 in the mornings and rarely saw any other patrons. The breakfast pastries were always nice and fresh, too!

There are table right outside Cove Cafe and they look like they have ash trays for smoking. Is that open to the outside? I am worried about smoke drifting down to 8th floor to our stateroom. That would ruin our balcony experience since I am very allergic to smoke.

On the port side, it is an enclosed area. Can't speak to as if the spoke drifts down to the 8th floor.
