Cove Cafe looks neat....kind of like starbucks right? Will my 16 year old daughter be able to go there for non-alcoholic drinks???

Unfortunately not..It is 18 and over...You could order the drink for her, and take it out, but it is Adults only...And nice and quiet.. :cloud9:

Thought I read somewhere that the teens have their own Coffee bar type place, maybe at The Stack. Hopefully a teenager can confirm that for us.

I am curious though how they regulate the 18 yr and older status. I assume they don't have someone standing at the door checking ID :)

KTTW cards are different for different age groups. That much will be obvious. That said, the whole area of that deck, not just the cafe itself is adults only.

Thanks didn't know about the cards. Does this mean that everyone including the kids have to carry KTTW cards with them everywhere?

Everywhere they want to purchase something..The cafe is extra, so it would be a give a way right there...My kids usually do not carry their cards with them...too young, I have a feeling my son will ask the next time though... :goodvibes

Is the Cove Cafe only on the Magic? On the comparison chart in the 3rd edition Passporter it appears to only be on the Magic. Is this the case, or is it on the Wonder as well.

There's also a Cove Cafe on the Wonder and let me tell you they make the BEST Frozen Moccachinos :goodvibes Me and the hubby had one everyday after going to the Rain Forrest Room :cool1: It was a pre-dinner treat

if we were together and I used my card to purchase for my daughter and myself the card would not be a give-away....right?

No, but I would not do it...There are few places for adults only, and this is one of them...A personal choice here...I will not go further on this one... :bitelip:

Yes, I agree. Lets keep the adult places for the adults!
There are so many other places on the ship that kids can go to.

Oh the Cove Cafe sounds like a great place to read and enjoy a latte! :)
Just wondering - sometimes for a change I like a cup of Tazo Chai tea (with lots of sugar and milk - yum). Do they by any chance have Chai tea or just regular tea? Starbucks has that Chai latte made with syrup I think.

Starbuck's Chai Tea Latte is my favorite.......the CM in Cove Cafe can make a chai latte but it does not taste like starbucks....but was doable!!!

there's a "bar" type thing at the stack. they serve smoothies, sodas, and waters. no coffees.

The fact is, it isn't about the cafe itself, it's the fact it resides in the area demarked with partitions as the adults only pool area. Noone under 18 should be in the whole area, not just the cafe.

I don't mean too be nasty...but sometimes the adults seem so territorial!
I am a rule follower so will definately keep her away.....but am wondering how a beautiful, nicely dressed, perfectly behaved 17 year old girl, sitting with her mom having a latte can be a problem. Sorry, I just don't see it!

I am sure she would be fine, but where do you draw the line after? Can you just see it, others would know, and do the same, and then there would be no adult only reprieves!!!!!!!!! This is done, so adults can relax somewhere, not everyone has children, so there needs to be some quiet place, And those of us with children, need somewhere to go also.. MOst parents on the DCL, are parents of quite young children, and do not have many adult only times at home....

Or a beautiful, nicely dressed, perfectly behaved 16 yo, or 14 yo, or 7 yo. Where would you draw the line? It is not behavior, it is as was said, an adult only area and that should be respected. You can purchase a latte and sit on the other side of the partition with her and enjoy it just as much.

For me, it's not being territorial I don't even drink anything from coffee, it's those are the rules. It's no different than no one other than teens are welcome in The Stack, that's their area to be without adults looking over their shoulder, and it has almost all the same amenities, including internet access, just it's non-alcoholic beverages instead of coffee. You go in to the cafe, get what the two of you prefer, and there are plenty of areas right outside the adult area for you and your daughter to bond over your coffee based beverage of choice, don't have to have it right there.
