Well, just returned from five days at the Courtyard. If you have a chance check out this hotel. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay. The room was clean and up dated, the staff friendly and helpful (not to mention a heck of a lot of fun!) This place is convenient to the Disney Parks (we drove most of the time) and the busses were not bad at all.

Will be happy to answer any questions, and yes, we will be staying there again!

Are they doing the Manager's Reception? If so, do you know what the times are? Is the pool heated? (We're going in Jan.)

Thanks much!:p

The managers reception is from 5-6 pm. They serve beer, wine and soda. There is popcorn and salsa with chips. The pool is nicely heated, about 86 degrees. There are actually three pools close together. There is a small one that is one and a half feet deep, and larger ones that up to 6 feet deep. Hidden along the right hand side of the small pool is a really nice hot tub. The temperature was 105 degrees and felt wonderful!

Not many people in the pools, but it was nice to be able to leave the kids in one pool to play and slip into the next! We had no kids this trip and it was relaxing to not be splashed or bumped. I'm sure the kids appreciated it too, not to have to watch out for us "old folks".

We were on the 10th floor facing downtown and the market place. When we first looked out (we had a nice balconey (sp)
high enough for safety, low enough to see over) I was a little disappointed to see we faced the highway, but later when it was dark we were thrilled with the lights and sounds! Directly in front of us we could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks, off to the left we saw the Epcot fireworks and something in between that I'm not sure of! Fabulous views!!

If you think of anything else, just let me know. I'm sure you will have a wonderful trip

Thanks so much for the good report. We are staying there for new years for the first time. Haven't heard about the manager's reception - can you explain it a little more please? Is it for anyone staying in the hotel? Is it like a happy hour deal with discounts on the items served?

THanks!!

The managers reception is for anyone staying at the hotel. You just show up and settle at a table (seating for 2, 4 or maybe 6)some tables are regular and some have stuffed chairs, couple of love seats too. All the wine, beer and sodas are free, along with popcorn and salsa with chips. We went to the bar for our first round and then a waiter came around to refill anything you wanted. also the manager came to every table to chat a little. We tipped the waiter for bringing drinks (I'm not sure we were supposed to, but it seemed right to us) The first night we sat by ourselves, after that we found lots of people to chat with (kids are welcome, and they all seemed well behaved) If you are the shy type (or would just rather be alone), there is a big screen tv off to the right side of the room that can claim your attention. Either way, you will feel welcomed by all the staff attending.

I think you will have a great time.;)

we stayed there in Sept. Loved it. The kids were in the pool every afternoon so I brought our snacks out on a tray. It was nice to sit and relax and watch the kids play while I enjoyed the free snacks and soda. (Watch out for the birds, they'll eat your popcorn!)
