Courtyard by Marriott at DD

I can reply to one of your questions. I called last week to the Courtyard to inquire if they give you a parking pass if you decide to drive to the parks and was told that because they provide fee transportation to the parks they DO NOT give you a parking pass. If you decide to take your car to the parks you pay the parking fee which I believe is currently $6.00. Even with this it is a great deal on a very nice hotel. I have not heard complaints on their bus service at all so you could leave your car at the hotel with no problems in getting around. My hubby prefers to have his car at all times, but that is his choice.:D Hoping you have a great trip.

how long are they offering the $20.02 rates for?

thanks Lou-Ann. I like to have my car too incase we are running long somewhere. I ahte to have to rely on someone else to get me where I am going. We also like to park @ Boardwalk, enter EPCOT throught the "side" gate and exit through the same and then stroll the BW for a bit.

The $20.02 was an offer I saw posted in May. I am not sure what availability there is, if any. There was a recent post of a $25/night offer for dates 8/25 thru Oct.(I think)

Is there only one Courtyard by Marriot in this area? I have got a price for the courtyard from a UK travel agent, and I am trying to confirm if it's actually in Downtown Disney, or if it's further offsite.

It's described as Courtyard by Marriot, LBV

Here's the description
Courtyard by Marriot, at Lake Buena Vista

if it's the same one you are all discussing, then I'll be booking it asap!

there is a post at the beginning of this forum with a discounted rate to $25 per night for the DTD Courtyard Marriott tho.

here's a link to the hotel in Downtown Disney:

http://www.courtyardorlando.com/
Courtyard by Marriott WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort
1805 Hotel Plaza Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
Reservations: 1-800-223-9930
Phone: 407-828-8888
Fax: 407-827-4623

& a link to all the DTD hotels:
http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com/

Are you sure that Bev's hotel isn't the same one? They didn't give an address on her link but said it was DD & Crossroads. the other LBV one is on Palm Pkwy which is a newer nicer CYM and also very close.

the picture of the hotel on bev's link looks to be 3 stories & the Courtyard Marriott DTD is 14 stories or higher. My co-worker is staying there right now (for the 20.02 rate) & she called me last night thanking me for referring her to such a nice hotel with such a low rate. She said her room is on the 14th floor overlooking DTD where she can see the fireworks from her room. She also mentioned the happy hour from I think 4-6 with free beer & soda.

If you view the video clip ( http://www.courtyard.com/dpp/PropertyPage.asp?MarshaCode=MCOBN&checked=True&Marriott_BD= ) for the one on Palm Parkway it looks like the picture of the one in bev's link

I didn't think it was the right one, it definitely doesn't look like it has 14 stories.
Unfortunately, I need to book a package as flights from Newcastle (in the UK) are very hard to find - they are nearly all sold as part of a package deal, so I can't take advantage of that $20 offer.

this one looks pretty nice too though, just not on property

Bev - the Thomson picture is definitely the one on Palm Parkway. If you look on the courtyard.com site it is listed as Orlando - Courtyard Lake Buena Vista @ Vista Centre. The Downtown Disney one is listed as Orlando - Courtyard LBV at Walt Disney. There is another at Orlando - Courtyard Marriott Village @ Lake Buena Vista.

Our first two trips to Florida were with Thomson but subsequently I booked everything separately. Travel agents can usually book you on the same Britannia flights at reasonable cost - certainly if you save on hotel costs!

thanks rcomputer

- unfortunately to book a flight direct with Britannia is more expensive than to book a package including a hotel and car. even though we would be sitting on the same plane!

Thats because the packages are offering free or cheap kids places, but the flight on it's own has only a £20 discount for kids.

Are they real discounts again? We went to the Carribean Beach resort for three weeks in 1996 with Thomson and it was sooo much cheaper than booking any other way - then the next year they introduced "free" children but the costs had risen so it actually cost a lot more! ;-(

Some things certainly are free but seem to be difficult to get these days. I used to get a free car where I was required to pay the CDW. This worked out the same as I now pay for rental only from Canada so I guess was not popular with the rental companies. Even in 1999 it was getting difficult not to get the "inclusive" car rental where they gouged on other coverage.

Hope you find a good deal - Let us know if you need to identify any other hotels :-)

Can anyone tell me what the price is on Friday and Saturday nights? That Sunday through Thursday $25.00 price sounds great and I like the reviews I'm reading. I have enough frequent flier miles for a quick trip in September. WDW here I come!

run your friday & saturday dates thru the $25 link at the top of the forum. I've found by using the link that weekends & holidays are showing for $89 but I'd run your dates to be sure

When I run my dates fro the Fri and sat I pull up $99. There must be a difference when you are going. It is best to go tothe top of the page and pull up the form. You do not have to book, just fill out dates, look at the rates and back out. it gives you a good breakdown as to exactly what your costs are. Good luck.:D

My husband & I are staying at the Marriott (employee rate) 9/28 & 9/30, then transferring to the Yacht (year's wages) on 9/30. Question: Will the Marriott transfer our luggage to the Yacht Club?
Thanks.;)

Don't forget to ask for a AAA rate if you qualify for the Friday and Saturday nights. That dropped our $99 rate to $72!
