We did. We had a room only reservation, and they had to cancel our old reservation and refund our deposit and then rebook a new reservation to get our package for 4/3. This is the one week things are really tight, and laying out a second deposit while waiting on our refund was a problem. They booked it, gave us a confirmation number and just said the deposit had to be paid by 10/5 to keep the reservation.
Thanks for all your replys. I just called and also put something on hold but-- he would only let me hold it for 48 hrs. ( oh well, better than nothing).
I feel better about doing this hold today before this promotion is announced officially and they really get busy with reservations.
