Im trying to save money and my news paper does not have many. How do you find your coupons and how much do you save?:laundy:

My kids get half the coupon savings as their "allowance," so they are big into it. They are using the store websites, coupons.com and the local paper.

Sometimes we don't have inserts in our local paper, but a paper from a few towns away has them. They asked the clerk at the convenience store by our house to hold inserts for them if they find any.

Eta - Check for stores that double coupons. It makes a big difference. We saved $22 last week, and didn't buy anythign we weren't already going to buy.

Aside from the newspaper coupons, I use coupons.com and you can check manufacturer websites for coupons as well.

I am not like the folks on Extreme Couponing (or whatever that show is called), as I don't have a GIGANTIC stockpile, but I do use some of their techniques. I couple the coupons I have with the sales papers for the stores I shop (Winn Dixie, CVS, Walgreens and Target) for deeper discounts. This weekends shopping trip netted me 2.5 weeks (17 days) worth of dinners and breakfasts, plus about a months worth of paper and cleaning products, a couple of months of toiletries and other snack and random food items, BEFORE coupons and store deals, the bill was $349.89, AFTER the coupons and store discounts it was $189.69. That is $160.20 in savings.

Mind you, the extreme couponers wouldn't think this was a deal, but I will be darned if I'm not THRILLED by saving 160 bucks! Before I started clipping coupons, I was spending in the $130 range EVERY WEEK on groceries and home items AND I was going back AFTER shopping during the week for items I had forgotton or toiletries or whatnot.

Anyhow, that was a long explanation of where I get my coupons, but.....there ya go!

I get my coupons from the Sunday newspaper. I also have my mother's two Sunday paper's and a couple of other friends and relatives who save for me. I visit coupons.com, smartsource.com, and redplum.com regularly. I also visit southernsavers.com - the woman who does that web site does a great job of highlighting whats on sale at Rite Aid, CVS, etc and telling you what coupons should be around. Its very helpful.

I don't buy coupons but I know that there are places you can purchase them. taylortownpreview.com comes to mind. I also know of people who buy them on E-Bay. I think that is how the super couponers get as many of the same coupon as they have.

I do save quite a bit of money by matching up coupons and sales.

You can order whole inserts from Coupondede.com and a few other places. YOu can also find sellers on ebay.

I coupon on and off. It does help financially when I do it and I am trying to be more committed this time around.

HotCouponWorld.com is a great forum for couponers. Tons of info there.

I was just about to ask the same thing. I am hoping to buy a new printer soon, so I can start printing coupons. I have several friends who are extreme couponers and get carts of free stuff. I am going to a coupon class in a few weeks to learn how to do this.

Just a note that there are not going to be any coupon inserts in this Sunday's newspaper as it is a holiday weekend.

I am rather curious why you would post a first time post about coupons on a disney board. Strange. I would think that googling coupon boards would have made a ton more sense.

Then you must think 99.999% of the threads on here are strange, since they rarely are about Disney....

lol, know that it is the community board. But, if you were randomly looking for coupon advice would your guess be a Disney board? Would your first post be on this board? Lol, just interested in patterns in life. This one is unusual. :) No more no less.

I use ShopAtHome.com (which also gives SmartSource and RedPlum coupons) and coupons.com. I only print out coupons for products that I use. I don't see the sense of using coupons for things that I don't use just b/c it's on sale - it's a waste IMO.

ShopAtHome has 4 tabs of grocerey coupons (in addition to retail and the like). One of which will tell you the coupon but will direct you to the manufacturer's web site. Unfortunately, in order to get most of these coupons you need to register at the manufacturer's web site. I can't be bothered to sign up at every web site and get a ton of newsletters that I don't want. It's more hassle than it's worth.

Btw, ShopAtHome and Coupons.com both use the same type of toolbar in order to print out coupons. The toolbar will need to be downloaded and installed in order to print. But it is free to do.

I don't understand web sites that charge for coupons :confused3 To me that just defeats the whole purpose and point of a coupon.

Actually, there is the Budget Forums on the DisBoards as well.

OP, in addition to the CB here, you can also post your question on the Budget Boards. They may have a lot more info for you.
