Coupon Swap?

Does anyone know of a coupon swap on the Dis board or would you be interested in starting one? I know there is a coupon train but was really thinking of a more specific swap for example ( unused hba coupons for cereal coupons) etc!

I think this is a great idea! It would depend on the person you are swapping with I think though...what if you both want the same types of coupons?

It would work really well if the match up had 2 different "types" of people...say maybe someone who has no children/little ones to buy for - matched up with someone who has one that would need diaper/baby coupons.

I have seen the coupon trains, but I simply don't "get it". I totally imagine getting an evelope every week with the "leftover" coupons no one wants, including me. I mean the jist of the train is to take out the ones you want and put in the envie the coupons you won't use. So theoretically speaking if everyone puts the cruddy ones in, people are keeping the good ones, so what's in the envie when it comes to me? I know people all have different types of coupons they use so maybe it does work well.

I think a swap would be great if it was set up directly with someone who wants the "opposite" of you!

Most couponing websites have active trading forums. Some of them are even set up so that you can post your "have" and "need" coupons into a database. It works pretty efficiently and probably is a better way of doing it than trying to follow a single thread here on the disboards.

I have been on one of the coupon trains since 2008. Each weekend two newspapers are delivered to my door. My DH likes reading the news and although I read some of the news , I enjoy the store ads and coupon inserts more. I clip all the new coupons, keep those I want and forward the rest to my train buddy along with what was forwarded to me earlier in the week by my other train buddy. Are the envelopes full of leftovers that no one wants? I figure if I can even use five of the coupons forwarded to me out of 150 or so that come to me I won't lose money. (Most weeks I pull out far more than five coupons from those that are sent to me.) I don't know if either of the coupon trains are taking any new riders because they're both pretty big so it must be working out for a lot of people.
