Coupon help please.

I have been using coupons for quite a while but just recently starting getting Kroger home mailers with coupons. I'm a casual couponer so I need some help with the Kroger coupon mailer. The coupons say "manufacturer's coupon" and do not stipulate that they be used at Kroger only, however, there is a small Kroger logo on the bottom. Can these be used at any store, or just Kroger? TIA!!

I asked the same question a few months ago. The answer was that, if the coupon says "Manufacturer's Coupon," you can use it in any store that accepts coupons. If it says "Store Coupon," it's only good at Kroger.

The logo/store name at the bottom doesn't matter - you could even trim it off as long as you don't mangle the bar code or numbers.

I've used Manufacturer's coupons from Kroger at Walmart, Target, Harris-Teeter and Food Lion without any problem.

If the manufacturer coupon has a store logo and says "use at Kroger", that is a suggestion as to a good place to use it, and it can be used anywhere manufacturer coupons are accepted. If the manufacturer coupon has a store logo and says "use ONLY at Kroger", it can only be used at Kroger.

And don't cut off the logo just so you can use it. Stores put the logo there to get business in their stores. By cutting off the logo, you're defacing the coupon and using it improperly.

Many thanks for your replies. I actually used the coupon in question earlier today. . . at Food Lion. The cashier called a manager over and the manager said "hmmm. . .well, if it scans we'll take it". (I didn't remove the Kroger logo) It scanned without issue. I love being able to use these at Food Lion as it is so much closer than Kroger. Thanks again.

I use the white mailer coupons anywhere and just cut them out so there is no kroger logo but I only use the grey/brown mailer ones at Kroger. Not sure why but that's how I end up using them.
