My husband and I saw this movie tonight.:thumbsup2

We don't always like the same kind of movies, but we both thoroughly enjoyed this one. It is VERY funny! The script is good, the actors are terrific, and the scenery is awesome.:cool1: It is always disappointing to see a movie that starts out with a lot of promise, but loses steam halfway through. This movie is consistently entertaining from the very beginning to the very end.

It seemed like everyone in the theatre liked the movie, too. There was a lot of audience laughter, and I have to say, everyone was on their best behavior.:rotfl: I didn't hear a single cell phone ringing, no loud talking, and very few people leaving their seats for bathroom or snack runs. I didn't see any young kids in the theatre, but there was a good mix of ages, I'd say between 20 and 60 years old.

It was a great night. An excellent movie and a well behaved audience.:)

Good to know, thanks for the review. I went to see "The Invention of Lying" tonight and didn't really like it, so I guess we might have enjoyed "Couples Retreat" more (we had considered it). Our theatre was fairly empty and there was a line-up of people waiting to enter the theatre for "Couples Retreat" so I guess that was a sign!

I saw this movie today. I really liked it. It was really good. I laughed so hard during a few parts.

Hubby wants to see this. I was afraid the only funny scenes were what was on the commercials. Good to know.

Thanks for the tip. There's an early matinee in 2 hours at a nearby theater where they only charge $2.50 per person before noon and a large combo, 2 large drinks and big popcorn, is only $5.50 so it won't hurt our vacation funds to go enjoy the film.
It looks like a funny film, but you always wonder if all the good jokes are in the trailer. Good to know it's not that way.

Thanks for your review. I believe my hubby and I are going to go see this on our date night. :thumbsup2 We both will LOVE it I'm sure. It looks so hilarious and it has Vince Vaughn in it, whom I totally LOVE!!!

The entire Yoga scene! :rotfl:

I always hesitate to post about movies because not everyone enjoys the same kind of movies or finds the same stuff funny. A lot of people loved There's Something About Mary, for example, but I didn't find anything funny about that movie.:confused3 And, like I said, my husband and I don't always like the same type of movies. He loves the shoot 'em up, car chasing, thug-type movies and I prefer feel-good, coming of age, true to life family, relationship type comedies.:)

We paid $19.00 for two tickets and $17.50 for two small popcorn and two sodas.

Where was it filmed? The water is so blue!

The movie was filmed on the French Polynesian islands of Bora Bora and Tahiti. Gorgeous islands!

Ohhh.. I'm so glad.

It had only gotten 12% on the rotten tomato meter!

I think we're going to get to go tomorrow night!

I'm so glad to hear positive reviews. The written reviews yesterday seemed pretty lukewarm.

DH and I will probably see this movie next weekend.

Thanks to everyone who posted. :thumbsup2

I am one who didn't like it so much. And I went in with a very low expectation. Parts were ok, but I DID think all the funny parts were in the commercials. Different strokes for different folks!

We saw this today and we really enjoyed it...
BALI is beautiful..............one place my dad has always said he would return too, just for the beauty (he has literally traveled the world, Lucky Him)

Anyhoo, funny movie and though not a huge fan of Vince Vaughn, liked him in it.....Kristen Davis was good too, "typical part" for her, seemed like a good match.....some very funny parts...... we give it a :thumbsup2

I saw the Invention of Lying as well and thought it was pretty bad. I had wanted to see Couple's Retreat, but the reviews were pathetic so we swapped to the Lying movie instead. Guess we blew that one LOL

:goodvibes DH & I just saw couples retreat last night :goodvibes

We thought it was great and I'm not really a movie person, not to mention I wasn't feeling great when we went into the theatre but it turned out to be a great night :thumbsup2

I saw it this afternoon. It was SO FUNNY!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 When it was over. No one got up and left. Everyone just stayed to watch the credits.

Saw it on Saturday night in a VERY sold out theatre. There was hardly any talking and I also did not hear one cell phone ring or even see anyone texting at all.

The entire audience laughed throughout the movie. I also thought it was very touching as well. Many couples that went to see it and were leaving holding hands or walking arm in arm so I am guessing they enjoyed it too!

Vince Vaughn is a very funny man Oh and I can't forget the little kid. He stole a few scenes too!
