In a conversation recently, we were talking about couples having a "song." Well, DH and I don't have one. We didn't have a big wedding so never had a first dance type of thing.

My parents' song is "Last Date" by Floyd Cramer. Not sure why they picked that one but they have been married for 44 years, so it hasn't been a jinx.

So do you have a special song? And if so what is it?

our wedding song is True Companion by Marc Cohn. It wasn't "our song" until our wedding though; I heard it on the radio a few months before the wedding and fell in love with it.

I actually have been listening to the cd the past couple of weeks since SIL told me she thought Marc Cohn was a country artist and I didn't think so; had to listen to the CD to see if he was indeed "country" lol and I keep listening to True Companion over and over :lovestruc

"Have You Ever Been in Love".... Celine Dion

Our wedding song was "born to be my baby" by bon jovi. we actually danced to the waltz version on "this left feels right", but the original is more our style :)

Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse :lovestruc

"From This Moment" by Shania Twain and Brian White.

Elvis Presley - "Fools Rush In" or "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You". Depends who you ask as to what the official title is.

Nah, not really. Van Morrison's "Have I Told You Lately" is our wedding song, but I don't consider it "our song."

Well, DH and I didn't really have a song. When we got married we agreed to dance to "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys.... I couldn't help but think how familiar it sounded, until like a month after the wedding when I realized it was the intro to Big Love.. OMG haha!!!

We have decided since then, that our real song should be the hawaiian guy singing "Somewhere over the rainbow", as we have both liked that our whole relationship, and we love 50 first dates as it is among the first DVDs we watched together and loveddd that song at the end. So yeah we failed on not making that our wedding first dance song!

"God Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. We really didn't have a song until after we got engaged, we started listening to this song and it pretty much said everything that we felt, so it was a perfect fit.

"I Cross My Heart" by George Strait.

It's also my ringtone for DH on my cell phone. :lovestruc

Our song is not the song we danced to at our wedding, but the first song we danced to at all, which is Angel Eyes by the Jeff Healy band.

The song I always think of as our song is "You Ruined Everything" by Jonathan Coulton. It's really about a parent whose perfect life changes radically after his child is born, but it reminds us of our relationship anyway. Although . . I always tell my husband our song is really Coulton's "Till the Money Comes", which is about someone who is staying with their spouse until the spouse strikes it rich, at which point the person will take half of the money and leave. I have a bit of a strange sense of humor.:rotfl:

Yeah. Our song is "Copacobana" by Barry Manilow :rotfl2: Don't ask. We were quite groovy.

That is a good one, we love that one too as we got together when we were young and broke up and were back and forth for years before we finally got married.
