My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Disney in August of 2009. Any ideas of what we should do? I'm already thinking about booking reservations at one of the nicier resturants at the Dolphin one night, and we'll visit Pleasure Island several times (if it's still there).
Our trip is going to be for 10 days at an on-site Disney resort. Does anyone have idea advice of what we could do other than the parks, especially at night? We are going to Universal too, so off site locations would be fine too.
Also, I was thinking about booking our room at the Polynesian or at Coronado Springs, but I would like a room with a hottub or a jacuzzi. Does anyone know what resorts have those and is it worth the extra cost?
I also need restaurant recomendations for the other nights too. We like to try new things but Italian food is def a fav. Any advice or recomendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

all the moderates have one hottub (spa) at the main pool.

the Polyn does not.

all the DVC resorts have a whirlpool tub in their 1-bedroom and up.

you can rent a reservation from a DVC member and stay in a 1-bedroom - but all 1-bedroom are expensive. studios are the best deal.

most of the DVC resorts have a spa (hottub) at all their pools - both the quiet and main ones.

now some of the WDW resort suites (deluxe only here) have a hottub in the room - but they are even more expensive that the DVC resorts 1-bedroom.

beaware that only OKW whirlpool tub is big enough for 2 people - the others are definitely one person (okay if kids more than one).

We think the Boardwalk area Resorts (Boardwalk/Beach Club) are perfect for adults. At night you have World Showcase within walking distance where you can choose from many restaurants, stroll the showcase with cocktails in hand, see fireworks then have a leisurely walk back to your resort....or move on to the Boardwalk and visit ESPN club, the piano bar or the dance hall. Consider a Segway tour around Epcot or from Fort Wilderness for some adult fun. Downtown Disney is always worth at least one visit and La Nouba (spelling?) is an exceptional show. Rent a boat from your resort for a daytime activity. Additional water sports are available from the Magic Kingdom Resorts I think.
Of course, the Swan & Dolphin are in the Boardwalk area as well and I've heard one of them had a fun Karaoke show. Yes, that's my recommendation....and I'd look to rent DVC studio points to save some money. Look for a "standard studio at Boardwalk Villas" for your best deal. :3dglasses

Agree with Danenrox... just got back from WDW two weekend ago. Stayed at the Boardwalk and had a blast at the Piano Bar Friday Night.

The Epcot Segway tour was alot of fun, we did the 2 hour tour. (Had a Tour of THREE people only)

For young adults I think the Boardwalk is the best! Stay there whenever I can.

Does anyone have idea advice of what we could do other than the parks, especially at night?
I recommend Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk. It's a dueling piano bar right across from the Atlantic Dance Hall. Cover is $10 and 21-and-older only! The piano players are very talented and it's all-request. Doors open at 7pm, with entertainment from 8-2am. Just be warned this bar allows smoking, but they have a great ventilation system and it has never bothered me (a non-smoker).

Enjoy!!! :goodvibes

OKW Whirlpool tubs? Sorry, I don't know some of the abbreviations.

old key west

BWV - broadwalk villa
BCV - beach club villa

all are DVC resorts.

the studio is a whole lot cheaper than the 1-bedroom. but only 1-bedroom and up (also has 2 and 3) have the whirlpool tub.

here is a link to the DVC resorts
http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/guest/resorts/resortOverview?id=ProspectsResortsOverviewPage

to see the rooms just click on the resort you want - then do the 360 degree accomodations.

for night like - BWV and BCV have access to BW areas

SSR has access to DTD and PI

access is walking distance.

all DVC resorts have spa (whirlpool tubs) outside near the pools - so even if you go with a studio - you will have access to one. It just won't be in your room.
