DH and I are annual pass holders so its our goal this year to do the things we've never done at Disneyland (which isn't much). We (meaning I) really want to do a tour. Is the Walk in Walt's Footsteps nice? I am in the process of losing weight to do the segway tour (I am under the max weight but I'd like to be a little more under just to ensure they don't even bring my weight up) but we want to do the WiWF tour when we go this March. What do they do on the tour and is it worth it?

Also we are interested in doing lunch or dinner at Ariels Grotto. We had a good experience at Minnies Breakfast at the Plaza Inn. My question is do the princesses come to this meal or is it pretty much the same characters? We saw Minnie, Fairy Godmother, Clarabelle, Eeyore, Pooh, Chip and Dale at our breakfast. Also is the food worth the money?

Thanks for the input!!! :dance3:

I can't answer on the tours, as I haven't done any tours there as an adult. Most of them sound pretty interesting though.

I have done Ariel's Grotto, and the princess do come to the meal. We saw Ariel, Snow White, Cinderella, Mary Poppins, and Belle. As for the food, dh and I ended up having the exact same things while we were there, lol. We both had the salad and dinner rolls, fish and chips, and chocolate cake for desert. It was all yummy as far as I was concerned and we enjoyed ourselves.

I've heard good things and bad things about the food and experiences there.

We loved the WiWF tour. They give allot of general information that well…..I’m sure you’ll know (Walt’s apartment, what/why he wanted to build the park). But then again they gave some info that we didn’t know (rumors dispelled). The time went by really fast. We did it on July 4th because we thought the park would be really crowded. Didn’t feel that way but maybe that’s because we were on the tour. The lunch was OK. Nothing to write home about. The guide was knowledgeable but…..I thought he was a bit hummm……officious. OK maybe he hurt our feelings a bit at the end. When we got to the lunch area at the end of the tour, they had all of us pre-split up into assigned tables. The only other person at our table (there were just the two of us) was the guide. Everyone found their places…except the guide who smiled at us, took his water and visited with a couple of other tables the whole time we were having lunch. He never came back. We found this to be a bit rude. Conventionally speaking I don’t think either of us are extraordinarily ugly. Maybe we need new deodorant?

oh man... I don't think I've even seen a male tour guide... Maybe he was jealous you knew more than him... LOL.... what was the lunch they served? I am trying to diet and would like to know if its diet friendly...

You've looked at the info page on disneyland.com, yes? Seems that's the one that gives you the peek into Club 33, how fun!

Don't forget that 20% discount with your AP on the tours...

And congrats for being under the Segway weight! My hubby has about 50 lbs to go for that, and as soon as he hits that magic weight I have a feeling he's going to want to get there for the Segway (we were both working at amazon when the Segway debuted, and we had heard about the "new, secret thing" for months and months beforehand, so we almost feel like we had a part in it, LOL) when he's .2 lbs below. :) But if you are more comfy waiting, good for you for knowing your mind! :)

I don't know about Ariel's, sorry!

I am just scared cuz when DH and I went to 6 Flags in December I was too hefty for some of the rides. I could get on but it felt like the wind was knocked out of me when the safety harnesses were put on. :scared1: so I am a little paranoid now... haha... Disneyland is definately more friendly towards us fluffy people.

Definitely more friendly. DH right now is just over 300 and 5'10". He doesn't *enjoy* riding on things like Dumbo, but he can. The only thing he's tried that he doesn't fit on has been Maliboomer, but that's just b/c of *where* a bunch of his weight is, that they couldn't get the strap part of the shoulder harness clipped. As soon as he saw that clip he knew it wouldn't work, b/c he knows he has a very broad, heavy back, and he was just "out" too far for the thing to go down far enough.

He just hopes he can lose enough to go on that before they get rid of it with the planned DCA changes! :)

But, you know, Disney would probably believe you, especially since you're under. They don't seem to be big on calling guests liars. :)
