Couple questions about ADRs and changing hotel reservation

I'm trying to plan a trip in the beginning of December, but right now the exact dates are uncertain. I know that the 180 window is approaching for those dates so I want to book a hotel so I can make my dining reservations before that happens.

Couple questions, if I need to change the dates of the hotel stay will this cancel my ADRs? I don't want those messed up.

For the 180 plus 10, if I have a reservation longer than 10 days how do those additional days work? Is it just the following day you can do day 11 and so on?

This is more for the hotel part, but if I need to change the date range can I just modify the reservation to my new dates or will I need to completely cancel and rebook? I'd like to move the initial payment to those dates if I need to instead of losing the whole reservation.

I feel like I had one more question but it's disappeared from my mind lol. Any help with this would be great! This is a first trip for me bringing kids so I want it to be perfect

1. It won't cancel ADR's.
2. Days longer than 10 - following day book 11, following day 12, etc.
3. I think you would need to cancel, and rebook new dates.
--Hope this helps!

Changing a resort reservation does not affect ADR's.

You can modify a reservation, but there is never a guarantee that your resort/room category will be available for your new dates. WDW doesn't allow simply taking days off current reservations anymore.

for the ADR if there are 4 people in the hotel does that mean that's the number I'd have to use for making reservations?

And if I needed to add or remove one day and that was available it wouldn't just let me modify to that? I'd have to completely cancel?

Your dining reservations have zero to do with your hotel reservations. Anyone in the world can make a dining reservation. So you can make the reservation for 4 people or 10 people or 1 person. There is zero relation.

If there is availability for the entire new time you want, you will be able to modify. If there is not an entire, say 10 consecutive days available, it won't let you. There could be a room available for 1 day, but not 10. So if you want 10 total, it won't let you change from 9 to 10 unless there is a full 10 day reservation available in the system..

Call if you want to modify your reservation. As much as I dislike calling Disney, I've found the CM's are able to do things with the reservations that I can't from MDE.
