Couple off-topic questions about Wii Fit

First, does the original Wii Fit have a jumprope activity that is eventually unlocked? We're still working on unlocking everything, and I was at Toys R Us the other day, picked up a jumprope that says its compatible with Wii Fit (thinking there was a jumprope activity on it), but when I got home, don't see anything on there?

Second, I'm planning (if I can stick to it, lol), on doing daily exercises on the Wii Fit to try to lose a little weight and tone up a little before summer... i don't have the greatest knees though (nothing wrong with them, not overweight, just have problems with them for some reason)... was thinking I'd love to do the running exercise on the Wii Fit every morning, but not sure my knees could take me running on my living room floor. Anyone try a small trampoline with this? Do you think that would be even harsher on my knees than the floor?

Thanks for any input, :)

I can't answer the trampoline question but the regular Wii Fit does not have a Jump Rope activity and so far I have not seen one on the Wii Fit plus as of yet.

Well, that's disappointing.. wonder what it's talking about then when it says it's compatible with the Wii Fit.. grrr.

judging from some mild googling I just did it seems like the jump rope is to be used with games like The Biggest Loser for the Wii as well as other fitness games that incorporate the Wii balance board. I am not 100% sure on this since I can't access any of the gaming site from work but if you google Wii Fit Jump rope you should be able to uncover more information.

Thanks for googling it for me.. I also had tried to search to see if I could find any info about it, and really was unable to.

I do see where many sites say Biggest Loser and EA Sports do have a jumprope aspect, which on my box it lists these 2 games as well.. but it also lists Wii Fit, which now makes no sense to me. And that's the only reason I bought it (cause Wii fit is the only one I have of these 3).

And didn't think to keep track of my receipt (bought it over the weekend), and toys r us will not take it back without a receipt. Guess I;m out $10, :(

I think sometimes marketers and game mfrs. confuse "Wii Fit," which is the game, with the "Wii Balance Board," which is just the piece of hardware. Since the game comes with the hardware, I can see why this confusion exists, but they need to be more conscientious about making the distinction between the game and the board. When writing up marketing materials and descriptions, they need to be clearer as to whether their product works with the game, the hardware, or both.

Hmm, I just had a thought. What if the jump rope is meant to be used with the free run activity on the Wii Fit? That's really the only think I can think of that would make sense.

Edited to add: No problem. I am the office googler. Whenever someone needs something googled at work it always falls on me. Ok that sounds dirty LOL

Good luck. As PP's stated the jump rope doesn't got with the Wii fit or plus. I prefer the plus myself, there are more balance games and they're lots of fun. I didn't like the running myself, but the fit plus has bike riding, and I do like that. I'll do a half hour of that but can't stand 5 min of running :lmao: It seems to be easier on my body, and I'd think your knees. No idea why though, maybe it's all in my head :goodvibes The yoga and strength training are great for what it sounds like you are looking for, done daily is best, I do about 45 min a day yoga/strength mixed, lost over 20 lbs since Sept :yay:. It can take some time, but it gets addicting, you'll actually wake up wanting to do exercises, at least that's how I got!

Suppose it might be able to be used with the free run... afraid to see what the Mii would run like though as I'm flipping the rope though, lol!!!
Will have to give it a try I suppose... either that or invest in one of the other games... thought dd's might like to jump rope as well since they just learned how to (using regular jumprope), :)

How do you do the bikeriding on the Fit Plus? That sounds like something that might be good for me!

have you unlocked the free step on the aerobics? I do it when I can't go out and walk. It is actually stepping on and off the board for a certain number of minutes. I can't run either, so the free step works for me.

Yea, I've unlocked the basic one and the advanced one... love doing this one! Gets my heart pumping pretty good, :) And I've made it a bit harder too by putting the balance board up on a couple books to make it higher.

I wouldn't think it should be used with the Wii Balance board either, though, since you're not supposed to jump on the board. That really stinks for you, OP!

does the wii fit plus have everything that is on the original wii fit has and more or do you have to buy both seperate? we don't have either but would love to get it but we can only find wii fit plus with the balance board and not the original
Thanks
