Couple of quick SW Weekend question for you!

1. Where do they give out the FP's for the meet and greets?
2. I know that the limited edition merchandise is being sold from the Soundstage - does this include the SW pins?

Thanks!

We are going to be at MGM June 9th, last SWW. Wondering about merchandise? Is the only place to buy generic SW stuff at the warehouse mentioned? Will any of the other general merchandise areas have any plush, pins, etc...?? (Not interested in collectible stuff)

Also, read that autographs will take a while, and DD also want to ride some rides. Will we need to skip autographs? What would you recommend to a parent of an 11 year old fan?

We are buying one day passes into MGM for this event, since we are using up old parkhoppers and don't have enough. Any advice on where to purchase tickets? Should we just buy that am at the gate, or will it be too crowded?

Thanks for the answers!
Debbie :yay:

Fast passes are handed out between Prime Time Cafe and Indiana Jones Stunt show. If you are there at park opening, you will be escorted there, so it won't be hard to follow the crowd. You will go up the main drag and hook a left at Keystone Clothiers, pass Hollywood and Vine and Prime Time Cafe. They have three lines set up for each celebrity. I don't know how fast the handing out goes, we haven't actually gotten fast passes for any of the celebs. After fast passes are gone, you could have the opportunity to get into the standby line. Each celeb has scheduled times they will be signing. A CM last weekend told us that if we wanted to attempt the stand by line, to show up about 15 minutes before the signing was over and see how many people were in line. But this will not guarantee anything.

The way the lines are set up you can easily step in front of the booth where they are signing and take pictures, you just can't cross over and meet them.

As for merchandise, the soundstage, called Wickets Warehouse, sells limited edition merchandise and anything that has the official Star Wars Weekends logo. The limited edition pins can only be purchased here.

There is another store, by the ABC TV Theater, that has the t-shirts, hats, bags, jackets, etc, with the logo, but no pins.

For regular Star Wars merchandise that is not SWW specific, you can still shop at Tatooine Traders, which is still busy, but not nearly as bad as last year. They have all the regular plushes, action figures, lightsabers, books, etc, no Star Wars Weekends merchandise.

Our favorite purchase from the weekend was a sketch that we bought at Art of Disney of Jedi Mickey. They had this at Wickets Warehouse as well, but we knew they carried it elsewhere, so we didn't have to wait in the outrageous line. We had it personalized by one of the on site animators, and we bought a Jedi Mickey pin at the same store. We're having them framed together. We know it isn't limited edition, but its special.

As for ride time, I've never ridden anything during Star Wars Weekends, so I don't know the answer to that.

Good luck, hope you have a great time!

Your quick response is appreciated! We will look for merchandise DD wants is regular stores then. I think all she wants is a T-shirt anyway! :darth:

I got Peter Mayhew's autograph on Sat. The only real line was the line for the fastpass. You can only get one fastpass per person. If you want to get more than one celebs auto you'll have to have different family members standing in each line. The two stars for the weekend have three sessions(10:00, 2:30, and 4:00) while SWW host Warwick Davis had an extended siging at 2:15pm. The return time for the fastpass is a very small window of time, about 15 minutes. Once I got in line for the autograph it only took about 5 minutes to meet him. I was able to see MuppetVision 3D and eat a little breakfast after getting the fastpass and before my 10:25a time came up. Later in the day around 4ish the posted standby wait times for Rock n RollerCoaster and Tower of Terror were only 20 minutes, but they were more like 10.

We were there on the 1st SWW day, Friday, May 19th, at opening. I can't comment on the FP for meet and greets as my DS11 wasn't interested in that, but the lines seemed long for that and the limited edition souveniors (sp?) located next to WWTBAM SW version (Yep we were there when the 15 yr old won the cruise--he knew all things SW ). DS is obsessed with pins, especially SW pins. They are available all over MGM. But we found the best selection of SW pins at Pin Traders @ DTD. Hope this helps.
