Couple of questions

Does anyone know if the Malls will be open on New Years Day? I was thinking of shopping or a water park day as that will be our first day after we arrive. There is no way I will go into any of the theme parks on NYD!!

Also, in January, how often does Wishes traditonally happen on a weekly basis?

i'm pretty sure malls are open on new years day....
stores are almost never closed in the states.....
and certainly in a tourist area like orlando, those big malls like belz must be open.....
they'd be sacrificing a whole lot of revenue if they weren't....
as for the waterpark.....just remember that it can get VERY cold in orlando that time of year....it can be nice and hot and perfect for a waterpark and it can be frigidly cold.......and i mean C-o-l-d.....cold......hat and mitten weather cold.....i have pictures to prove it....so come prepared for both....

I am new to the Orlando area, but the malls were always open on New Years's Day in Missouri. The only days the malls tend to be closed are Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the plan for shopping and/or water park is going to be a good one.

We experienced very cold last December - Christmas Day was freezing, we needed our thick coats and gloves, so I will pack for all weather conditions again!
