Ok, Im now going to book P.O riverside with free dining and sort out flights later, im just waiting on sons friend to know if its two rooms or one we have to book, but we have gone last couple of times in November, and Typhoon Lagoon is always shut, I love this waterpark, so I thought if we went for 29th October 12 , maybe it would be open still, but if it isnt im thinking maybe flights would be cheaper to just go in November, so any advice? :)
I know they closed it 26th oct one year, and have searched on internet but cant see any closure dates for next year yet.
Sorry all my questions turn into essays!:rotfl:

From the Allears website for 2012 closures:

Blizzard Beach water park will be closed October 30-December 3 for its annual refurbishment.

Typhoon Lagoon water park will be closed December 4-March 17 for its annual refurbishment.

Did you mean Blizzard Beach is closed in October/November? As far as I know BB always closes the end of the year and TL is refurbished in December/January

Hi,

If you are going to be booking two rooms at Port Orleans instead of one then maybe you should look at the option below before booking.

Through the Disney's web site.
4 adults in 2 rooms at Port Orleans Resort - Riverside in a Standard Kingsize from 1st November 2012 - 15th November 2012 plus Disney's 14 Day Ultimate Ticket and Disney Quick (Counter) Service Dining Plan: Total price for a party of 4: £3,892.60

The other option.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, 4 Adults staying in a 2 Bed Villa from 1st November 2012 - 15th November 2012 with Disney's 14 Day Ultimate Ticket and the regular Disney Dining Plan: Total price for a party of 4: £4,171.90

Okay, it's an extra £279.30, but it will give you a table service meal each day rather than a quick service meal (but you will be tipping for that table service).

The main benefit is the 2-bed accommodation at Saratoga Springs when compared to two hotel rooms at Riverside.

As for Typhoon Lagoon, when we were there in Oct - Nov 2010 I think it closed for refurbishment on the last day of Oct, seems to be the same time each year, no dates published yet for 2012 on Disney's web site

I thought they alternated each year but not something I have looked at for a few years, it was too cool for me this Oct for a water park, has to be hot for me to get in the water.

It's possible. I am like you: don't even bother to look at waterparks for later than early October :rotfl: If it's not 90 in the shade, I'm not getting into the water :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2Thanks for your replies, We are a group of 5, me, my two sons,a nephew and their friend, we all went last November 10 and in Nov08 and both times typhoon lagoon shut, also we only stay on site for week, then stay on Idrive for shopping and Seaworld, then do a couple of days at Universal hotel to finish off with.

In my thinking I was hoping, if we could of just caught it open, this time it might be worth going end of oct, but was worried that flight price would be dearer, because its over school hols time here,- im sure im not happy unless ive got something to baffle my little brain with:rotfl:

If you can fly out around Oct 20th for 2-weeks then you should hopefully get the option of a few days at Typhoon Lagoon.

The other benefit of being there then is the night of Halloween, it's a great experience.

And even though is only a few weeks before you would normally go in November it should be slightly warmer and lighter.

Lighter as USA puts there clocks back tomorrow morning Nov 6th and next year on Sunday 4th Nov, so prior to the clocks going back next year on Nov 3 sunset will be at 6.39pm while on Nov 4 sunset will be 5.38pm.
