Couple of disappointing things for us SEPT peeps

does anyone know if you can still go up to the train station and take a picture facing the castle?? my mom really wants to do this when we go in two weeks and with the rehab we're not sure if this can still be done...thanks in advance :cool1:

That appears to be the inside facing backside of the train station, not the outside facing front that everyone sees as you approach the MK. And a previous poster confirmed that I believe. So, as long as it stays that way, just get your pictures before you go under the station and into the park and all should be well.

As long as the rides are running, I don't give a hoot about the walls! :)

You've got that right....I don't mind a few walls if the lines are short, the rides are running and we have a great time! The renovations now will make our trip in April even better!

BTW....are you and your wife going back for your anniversary?

Yessir! A shorty trip.

Sept 7 - 12. :)

Not the water fountains!! :rotfl:

OK, now that I think about it, it will save us about an hour of park time!! :rotfl: DD and DH have so much fun playing in the jumping water, that we easily spend an hour there - talk about fascinating!! (and I'm the antsy one, lets go.. oh, one more picture? ok, now, lets go... wait, we didnt see THESE fountains... ok... now... can we go... sure, hey, can I get wet here at this jumping water... )

:rotfl2:

I am only dissappointed about The Living Seas being closed, we missed turtle talk with crush last year, and I guess we miss it again this year too. :sad1: Does anyone know if Ice Station Cool in Epcot is closed? I have read that it is closed down for refurbishment, but disney is saying it's still operational. I for one loved that place, and my husband missed it last time we were there. Thanks for any information you guys might have!

We didn't get to see Turtle Talk last time either, and it seems we'll miss it on our next trip (in September). But....I'm not bummed, because we are already planning our 2007 trip to see Everest, so it just gives us one more thing to look forward to! My kids and I have gotten used to something being closed, because we always go in the off-season.

We were at MK last week. Only half of the train station is blocked off. You only see this from inside the park. Looking from the outside, you can't even tell there is refurbishment going on at the train station. We rode the train. We entered the train from Main st. and got off at Toon Town. The entire platform of the train was open as usual.

That makes me feel A LOT better. I love looking at the train station as I approach the park. The station is such an important landmark, MK just would not be the same with the entire building under scaffolding. I was at Disneyland in the early 1990s when they had drained Rivers of America to develop Splash Mountain and Fantasmic. The park was not as magical that day.

Im mainly dissapointed about Turtle Talk. The last time we were at Epcot they had not even built it yet.My 3 year old was really looking forward to it.

I also heard that the church in the Norway pavillion will not be open. Dose anyone know if this is true? :confused3

You said it best. Better to do the re-habs before the thing collapses onto itself. Preventive maintenence is always better. Which Disney seems to have forgotten in recent years. Maybe they are finally seeing the errors of their ways. {Bye Bye Mike, don't let the board room door hit you on the way out!}

Surely not all of the fountains are closed right? Taking DD for the 1st time and she absolutely LOVES these things, I mean loves them. Please say not ALL of them!

No, but I wonder if that's where they are headed, closing all of these fountains up. Wouldn't be the first time Disney got rid of something folks enjoyed.

I guess I missed something. What fountains are we talking about and where are they? Thanks

crazyj4488's original post showed a fence up next to the Earl of Sandwich at DTD. That prompted my post stating that behind the fence in that area, was/were? the dancing fountains that kids run around in. I also mentioned that they took out the small dancing fountains that used to be by the Lego store some time ago.
