Has anyone stayed at Country Inn & Suites -Maingate at Calypso? This is the one on Calypso Cay Way not at LBV. It seems very reasonable and has a zero entry pool with a slide. How far is it from Disney World? How was your stay?

Any comments would be appreciated.

We stayed here last fall, and loved it. We have two small girls (at time of trip 6 & 3), and it was perfect for us.

We got a rate of $44 per night (and I know they've since gone up) and I recommended this place to several people...the breakfast bar was great, service great, pool great, and easy drive to parks.

I wouldn't hesitate staying here again at this rate...I think I could get more room for the money, though, if the going rate right now is around $67....

:bounce:

We stayed here in a kidsuite and enjoyed it very much. My kids loved the waterslide, but it is not a very big one. They also have a little putt putt course. I can't remember how long of a drive it was to the parks, but I know the fastest way was the toll road.

We stayed there a few years ago for a few days and it was a nice stay. We were in a king suite and we were very comfortable for our family of five. The kids loved the pool and the breakfast was great. If I remember correctly, it is right down 535 which is maybe 5-10 minute drive into WDW. It was a piece of cake to get to WDW from there. Nice hotel. We would stay there again and always like staying at a Country Inn and Suites hotel when we travel. Good chain of hotels.

Great place!
Easy drive to WDW. Take the Osceola Parkway and it leads you right there!:sunny:

We stay there the first night every trip before moving to our DVC resort. We love the place. It's clean, the free breakfast is nice, there is free mini golf and 3 pools that you can swim in. It is only a very short drive to WDW.

Yup! I agree.

We stayed there in 9/2002 for a "non-Disney" trip. We had a 1 b/room. It was a lovely hotel. The pool is awsome!! Our dd really loved it.

Just make sure you have a car, cause there is not much within walking distance.

It's about 15 minutes from both SW & WDW (5 from DTD) and 30 from US.

The "free" b/fast was pretty good too!

We spent 8 nights there in March. We really enjoyed our stay. We paid $44.50/nt with Entertainment card. The desk clerk mentioned upon check-in that we were lucky to get that rate because they are no longer accepting the Ent. discount. I've seen the $44.50 rate on Hotelkingdom.com as well. For that rate, we wouldn't even bother looking elsewhere.

We have a 7yo daughter. She enjoyed the pool, golf, popcorn, cookies, etc. Our room was clean and comfortable. We did ask to be moved after a few nights, when a very loud group of teenagers moved in on our entire floor. We were moved from a standard room to a kidsuite. Both rooms were fine.

This hotel is very close to the parks/easy to get to. The Amerisuites looked nice as well. The cont. breakfast was okay. There was no variation during our stay--the same flavor muffins, cereal, etc., but it was adequate.

We stayed there last year in August. Rooms are nice and roomy. We had a microwave and mini fridge. The hotel had a nice atmosphere and even had live music by the pool, although we never saw them because we were always out at the parks while they were playing.

WDW is very close as is Universal and the outlets. There are numerous food chains right near and a Publix is almost directly across the street.

We paid 44.00 a nite through valuetrips.com but paid at the hotel not through them, we just booked through them. We had to leave a day early and were credited our extra nite stay back since we didn't pay through them.

Breakfast is nice and has something for everyone. I also heard that you could check out the Amerisuites breakfast too, although we never did.

Pools are clean. There is a zero depth, nice for the kids and another pool which I believe was 4-5 foot, and a whirlpool. My husband and I loved to sit on the "porch" area of the pool in the nice rockers that were there. Very relaxing.
